C9 gets destroyed by failing to check angles far more than any other T1/2 team. The frequency at which 3 people run by obvious positions without clearing it astounds me.

They look really good aside from a few rounds like that here and there.

Excited for the major. Flying around the time of the final, hopefully will have landed on time to watch.

Yesterday's games were good. C9 are always really cool to watch for some reason. Not a fan, but I always get excited about their games.

Immortals looking strong. G2 coin flipping was arrogant and dumb, I guess it entertained some people.

crouch jumps yesterday made each game cringy to watch. Apparently lots of issues as well, players with 70-100 fps etc.

Top tier teams have been knocked out before, but never like this.

Losses to Big, Mousesports, and Flipside.

Mouz you can perhaps forgive. But lol. It's like they didn't prepare for the major. Perhaps their success in past tournaments made them complacent I dunno.

Gambit and BIG only teams to go 3-0, wut

I think SK wanted to play Inferno Vs them because they never thought they'd lose and it would mean no strat reveal for them on other maps for the knock outs.

Not surprised by gambit. They are about the most solid team outside Faze(lol), Astralis, and SK.

BIG came out of nowhere. They beat SK with cold going off.

BIG is now my favourite team.

I'm not surprised by Gambit, I think they are edging pretty close to being a top 5 team and they seem to have a super high work ethic.

Meanwhile Navi looking terrible. Getting rid of Zeus worst trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever.

Gotta say that I really like that format.

Hopefully Fnatic can win it all, but would be happy for BIG, VP and SK too

Astralis SK so sick.

I don't really like Swiss that much with BO1s. Think it works much better in larger brackets with more matches. Not sure what's wrong with good old round robin BO3s followed by double elimination.

A straight BO3 bracket that is actually seeded would be better than this crapshoot.

Astralis gets SK in semis because they lost to SK in swiss. That logic.

Whatever, sometimes favourites meet in tournaments before the finals. Gotta beat the best to be the best.

That's just an example of the problem of having no seeding. They already played in round 2 of the swiss. Its possible in this system to have crazy variance in the strength of opponents in the swiss and the bracket.

The swiss should really be a triple elimination bracket that is seeded.

Valve is avoiding it because they want this whole minor/major legends, challengers, etc system to be meaningful.

Under this sytem you can beat 3 of the worst teams in the swiss and then beat 2 mediocre teams in the weak half of the bracket to make the final. Meanwhile the best teams in the world battle it out among themselves.

That isn't a problem of having no seeding. The "problem" was that SK lost to BIG. If SK had beat BIG, they wouldn't be playing Astralis, because the 3-0 teams play the 3-2 teams.

And that team that SK lost to? They would have been one of the low-seeded teams in a seeded tournament, so they still could have played+beaten SK even in a seeded tournament. SK didn't go 3-1 because of a loss to a tourney favorite; they went 3-1 because they lost to a team that would have been a low seed.

Imo they should be seeding the quarterfinals using opponent win %. So that the 3-0 team that had tougher competition gets to play the 3-2 team that had the weakest and so on. That would have given us - Gambit vs Immortals, BIG vs Fnatic, SK vs VP and Astralis vs North.

In any case I'm hoping that one of BIG, Fnatic, Gambit and VP win the title.
