For sure. Think it could be improved though. The seedings are just not reflective of current abilities at the minute.

Na'Vi strength is still mysterious I think. They've only played cbbl and dust2.

Yeah I have them as only slight favourites. Anyone could beat anyone. Sick set of quarters to be honest.

s1mple carried Liquid to the semis. Now it's time to get his major title.

They "smashed" SK on the back of huge games from s1mple and flamie. They won a bunch of close rounds. Its easy to look strong when you win CT side pistol and have full buys against **** buys for 80% of a half.

You can't expect to win every half 12-3 and have two guys with 20 kills. I thought they were the favorite going in, but I'm not really anymore confident than before because I haven't really seen anything.

Most importantly when you have s1mple on your team I imagine things are a lot easier when the opponent is never in the game.

Side Note: No idea why they didn't use opponent match win % to seed the bracket. That's how swiss works.

They did. The 3-0 teams are playing the 3-2 teams.

They used wins only the whole way. No tiebreakers. Traditionally some tiebreaker would be used in a swiss system. It helps prevent what happened here where some teams have several tough matches while others get through unscathed.

Bunch of randomness in this system for no apparent reason.

Oh you mean in the group? Not sure I get it. How can they use anything but wins when every team played same amount of games? Round difference? Some teams played harder other teams so that isn't necessarily fair either.

Round difference is garbage. You use Opponent Match Win %.

If you play tougher opponents you should see a benefit over someone who had an easier way through to the same record.

theory: people who announce immediately as soon as they enter the game that they are a smurf never have an account that is more than 2 ranks higher than the rank of the game they're playing in.

I'm pretty sure this is the exact way that the playoffs were sorted. I'm just killing time at work so I did the math for opponent win%. You can see that it actually aligns perfectly with the draw, it just seems weird that Astralis is legit the worst ranked team of the eight.

3-0 Teams
Navi 46%
VP 42%

3-1 Teams
SK 63%
Gambit 61%
Fnatic 54%

3-2 Teams
Faze 48%
North 45%
Astralis 41%

Supposed to be random. Of course their rules also said one team would have an extra ban in playoffs and they appear to be banning down to 1 map.
