You take 6 noobs who have never played a single minute of COD4 before. Set up a multi-player game where it will be all 6 of them vs. you.

The match will be a standard Hardcore Team Deathmatch. You may choose any 1 of your available classes, however, your 6 opponents may only choose 1 of the starting classes before you unlock create-a-class. The map is crash.

How long do you live for?

Please feel free to change the map to one of your liking to create more discussion.

hmm, I guess I could have spent a little more time going over the details but this didn't come up in dispute. I will say that your 6 opponents have very little gaming experience, and have played no more than 2 hours of FPS's in their lifetime.

Obviously camping would be the best strategy. But eventually you would run out of ammo and eventually your opponents would start catching on to the controls. Also, once they stop killing each other by accident due to friendly fire and figure out how to start spamming grenades there is no telling where they will make it rain.

Also, since there is SIX of them, coming out of hiding to reload would not be easy by any means once they start catching on since any number of them could be coming from any direction. especially if you're on Rooftop and need to get down to ground level for more ammo.

i recently achieved the "live for 5 minutes" challenge (forgot name, sry) for the first time and im in my 2nd prestige. cod4 was my first FPS. i think i could live for 10-15min vs total noobs. why does losing weapons matter? are we not allowed to pick their weapon up? would be neat to hear the answers change based on a more confined map like shipment.

why are we even trying to kill them if the point is to stay alive the longest?

I'd hide behind a spawn or something and they might never find me.

I think I could kill >100 of them before they killed me if that was my goal.

I don't get it, are we trying to hide to stay alive or are we talking about playing normally?

Normally you probably wouldn't be able to last that long simply because one bullet is deadly. Even thought hardcore = no kill cams they would have a good idea where you are if you don't move much, and if you do run around you'll die pretty quickly I'd imagine.

If you can just hide then you can last a really long time, but that would be boring as all hell so I don't see the point.

I voted 10-15mins because I figure eventually the 6 of them are either going to figure out a way to kill me or just get lucky one time. Make the map Overgrown and forever it would be

lol because it's fun! Obv I knew I would get some questions like this but just assume you're playing like you normally would. Sure you can sit in a dumpster, behind a wall, under a bridge and live for 3 days but that's not really the point of the OP.

Well if you're a normal person, and wouldn't want to hide under a truck for eternity you'd obv run out of ammo. So of coarse you would be allowed to take any guns or ammo off anyone you've killed.

Wait, do you guys mean like literally forever?
COD4: Settle a Dispute Quote
06-28-2008 , 02:57 PM
Until they got bored of running around not finding me equals forever. There are several spots on each map where I could hide and noobs would never think to look. Closets, under vehicles, behind spawns. If one does find me, I'd kill them and sneak to a different spot.

Well if they've only played 2 hours of FPS's (PC, console, etc) then a prettttty long time. If they've played either console or PC and are playing on the other system, not so long. It just takes that one of them sees you before you see them and you're dead if they're decent at aiming.

Also am I allowed to kill myself to get more UAVs/choppers/etc.? Man it would take a long time for noobs to figure out what to do in response to a helicopter, and on hardcore choppers are murdermachines. I had a chopper get 8 kills in like 45 seconds the other day on Pipeline.

This was a big thing that came up in the dispute as well but i decided to leave it out. I didn't have a problem with it (killing yourself to get UAV/AIRSTRIKE/CHOPPER) since the initial scenario entailed you being killed directly by 1 of your opponents. However, my counter-part thinks the opposite. Once you die, self inflicted or not, game over and it counts.

Yea this is exactly it, they will get curious and start exploring the map and all it takes is being seen once. I don't think it would be as easy as you guys are making it out to be.

Also, they have mic's.

I'm slightly less optimistic without my goofycopter support, but still.
Bomb Squad+Overkill+Dead Silence. MP5 silenced, M4 silenced.
They'd have no idea where you were and they'd be shooting at each other more than at you.
Never run out of ammo.
