Same here. I wasn't very impressed with WaW and expected more of the same for Black Ops. This won't be a release day buy for me, but if people say it's good I'll pick it up.

Treyarch versions will never be as good as the Infinity Ward CODs, but I'll still buy them because they're better than most of the other games out there. I actually really liked COD3.

they would really have to **** up black ops for it to be worse than mw2

word, they are good games, this one should be a lot better than their other efforts since they're FINALLY leaving the WWII era

I never touched W@W, but have been playing the campaign demo lately when I only have a few minutes. It's fun as hell -- more fun than the MW2 campaign, imo. Was the W@W campaign flawed, too, or just the multiplayer?

I liked that W@W campaign. The multiplayer was kind of annoying. COD 4 and mw2 are better imo.

liked the maps more than COD4s maps but that isn't saying much because there were only like 3 COD4 maps i enjoyed...weapons were cool not sure how you could call them terrible, besides the visual stuff i don't see much difference between any of the sets of weapons in the last 3 COD games. some are high ROF low damage less recoil (

PPSH), some are low ROF high damage more recoil etc...for most players who started with 1 or 2 it was great to see bolt actions again

what was so great about the guns in 4 compared to WaW?

The guns were incredibly inaccurate in WaW. The PPSH and the FG42 were the only ones I could stand. When the MP40 is one of the best guns in the game they have a problem. The maps were too big and monotoned. The lighting was poor in them. The uniforms blended in with them. It made it difficult to see people which meant you had to put strain on your eyes while looking for them.

I dunno I thought WaW was essentially COD4 with WWII skins/graphics. It played good in campaign and zombie mode was a blast but all the 1940's weaponry and the sometimes too big maps made the MP pretty weak. Black Ops is getting rid of the main thing that held WaW back imo, hopefully Treyarch has evolved a little with the other small details. Even though it may not be as good as MW2 like someone else said it will still be better than a large majority of the other games out there.
