I uninstalled a couple of months ago, is the new update any more fun day to day? I was 10/7/3/1 hovering around 3200, game started feeling like a grind for the crown chest with no real progress.

A few things are different. Drop rates are up a bit and there are new units coming out. Also there are the new Hearthstone arena-style challenges. But day to day it's still the same.

Decided to try this deck and my first game was against Giant/Balloon. I felt like I couldn't even get a pump down. Second game was against Lava Hound. I put the phone down and am currently getting 3 crowned so I can type this.

Is it standard to get crushed by air with this deck?

Ice Spirit and Skeletons don't do **** against that.

Pretty awesome 3 game stretch. BENCH.

Giant balloon is super easy to deal with.
Poison or ice spirit and the balloon cannot do ****. While your own push are hard for him to stop.
Lava hound is harder tho since you can't contain it easily. When he use hound you need to pressure the other lane. While using poison and or ice spirit and or zap to deal with pups.

Just 3-0 a 3500 trophy guy who had 3 legends in challenge. He got my turret to 130 health before I even hit his turret.

Miner instead of Baby Dragon if you have it

It's nice that they're changing mute to actually mute your opponent. And some other QoL updates incoming.

But otherwise I've hit legendary arena recently and am finding my interest in continuing to play this decreasing since rewards don't increase anymore, no more cards to unlock and upgrades take forever.

In my experience gob barrel lvl 4 would be better replaced by stab gobs lvl 10+

I'm trying to settle on a deck for crown farming, and a deck for challenges. It's been a long time since I've felt I've had a good deck for getting three crowns. Seems like every winning deck nowadays is a "1-0 master". So, if I want to clear a daily crown chest quest, I end up playing 15-20 games. Ain't nobody got time fo' that!

These are the cards that I have over tournament cap on my main account, thus, my "build arounds" for ladder. These are all just one level over, i.e., none of my commons are level 11 yet.

Over cap:
miner, princess, lumberjack, lava hound -- guards -- furnace, mini pekka, giant, mega minion -- zap, ice spirit, goblins, fire spirits, archers, minions, arrows, tesla, barbs, minion horde

I don't have the money for upgrades, and am trying to save up for the level 11 zap upgrade. So I wouldn't want the decklists to include any of the "under cap" cards. Most of these I could get to tournament cap with infinite gold, but....

Under cap:
inferno dragon -- mirror, rage, goblin barrel, tornado, dark prince, freeze, prince, witch, giant skel, pekka -- valkyrie, three musketeer, barb hut, rocket, wizard, bomb tower, goblin hut -- skeletons, spear goblins, knight, bomber, mortar

Then, on my secondary account, my options are much more limited.

Over Cap:
miner, princess, lumberjack, sparky -- furnace, giant -- zap, skeletons, minions, barbs, minion horde

Under Cap:
lava hound, inferno dragon -- everything except bowler, lightning -- ice golem, valkyrie, wizard, bomb tower, barb/goblin huts -- spear goblins, knight, archers, mortar, tesla, royal giant

I ve a solution for your 2nd account since you seems to lack time playing your first, maybe drop the 2nd
