I guess there are anti-Balloon buildings, although I don't have much experience with Inferno Tower or Tesla to say how effective they are. Most of my experience with buildings is actually with Tombstone, which distracts OK, but after everyone griped at me about it, I haven't been running them, using Skeletons to counter tanks/Prince/Hog Riders instead. Maybe now that my Goblins Huts are at level four, I'll try including them.
I've been running with balloon lately and the only thing that really stops it is a distraction building tbh. I guess that kinda proves your point though. Minion horde works to stop it in its tracks, but on the 2nd push, someone will just shoot some preemptive arrows to take those out and have enough lix left for the killer freeze.
