Seems like his MO, but that's one of the least dick things I've seen him say.

I think he's right, though. I'm really annoyed when I just lose the game straight out to a balloon. It happened just now and I about uninstalled the game. I don't know how much I want to put in to becoming good at this game. My philosophy had been that it's not good to waste elixir so I play something to avoid sitting at 10. I play a Giant and some Spear Goblins and basically lose to Minions and Balloon on the other side. My King's tower is 2/3 health before the balloon goes down and I've done like 300 damage to one of his towers.

I kind of want to go deeper in to it and evaluate more strategies but I also kind of want to throw my phone across the room.

I felt the same way getting raided by TH9's as a TH8. I'm getting crushed by these things that I don't even have access to.

Maybe if I got balloon and stomped on someone else I'd feel as good as they do bad. Because it sure as hell is fun 3 starring Th8's with level 6 giants.

Dont play both the giant and the goblins before you know anything about your opponents deck. Drop the 2 elixir goblins at the bridge and see how he reponds. If he doesn't then you had some free damage and your elixir is at 10 again and hopefully you have a defensive tower to drop if he still wont play. At that point he has to play as you can build an attack while your defensive tower defends.

I understand what you are saying about leaving mana open to play counters, but even if you run the hardest of counters in Minion Horde, and you leave mana open for it, sometimes your hand is Giant/Arrows/Bomber/Goblin Spearman -> Witch, and a Balloon opener in the lane opposite your opened Goblin Spearman just waltzes past everything while you're helpless. In my experience, one random thing that can hit a Balloon, i.e., Baby Dragon, Minions, Goblin Spearman, Witch, Archers, isn't enough. You need two of them, right away, or you need a legit hard counter, which is pretty much just Minion Horde, or a well-placed Musketeer that locks on correctly.

I guess there are anti-Balloon buildings, although I don't have much experience with Inferno Tower or Tesla to say how effective they are. Most of my experience with buildings is actually with Tombstone, which distracts OK, but after everyone griped at me about it, I haven't been running them, using Skeletons to counter tanks/Prince/Hog Riders instead. Maybe now that my Goblins Huts are at level four, I'll try including them.

I've been running with balloon lately and the only thing that really stops it is a distraction building tbh. I guess that kinda proves your point though. Minion horde works to stop it in its tracks, but on the 2nd push, someone will just shoot some preemptive arrows to take those out and have enough lix left for the killer freeze.

There is difference between lack of execution and unbalanced combo.

Loons aren't difficult to counter because of their speed, but obviously if you let your opponents swarm with bunch of other high elixir units, you aren't going to be able to counter them. That to me is an execution problem, not whether loons are overpowering.

Game becomes stale once you can keep yourself above arena 7.

Pretty much impossible to hit arena 8 without some heavy gemming at the moment.

Agreed, I've been on 2600-2800 for months and still a while away from getting my commons/rare/epic to 10/7/5. Pretty much play 4 or 5 games a day to get the crowns

They need to release new cards and an arena between 2000 and 3000. I would play a lot more if I had a challenge around 2500 but now it doesn't matter if I mess up and drop back to 2300. I still get the same rewards. Pushed to 2700 once with a huts deck just to see what matchups you get and they are mostly lvl9 with lvl4 or lvl5 epics and lvl7 rares that I can't beat.

Ya, I am very comfortable around 2200 but when I hit 2300+, it gets pretty stupid when I am up against players with super units.

So not only it is impossible for me to hit 3000, there is no incentive for me to try or consider gemming to get there.

I've been hanging around 2400 for awhile now with level 7 commons and level 5 rares. Occasionally I'll run into people with level 10 commons and level 5 epics and it's not even fair. I don't use any epics at the moment since my highest is level 2.

At this rate I think I could get 3k with lvl 9 commons and lvl 7 rares.
