New Spinoff from Clash of Clans. Worldwide release today.

It appears there was some hostility from CoC players who expected a big expansion or update from Supercell but it was announced that Clash Royale would be taking off instead.

Still a fun game, draws from Hearthstone and CoC. Greatly benefits from being in a clan. F2P real-time pvp with elements of Tower Defense

I'm enjoying it. I think they need to address that there's no advantage to playing right now if you have all your chest slots full but other than that I'm liking the gameplay.

One thing I don't understand, is why there were preferences given to signing up.

I noticed some of the top clans have similar names as coc.

They all now have an advantage to new sign ups. Yesterday was the first chance I was given.

No preferences I think. It launched in Australia, Canada and a bunch of other countries a long time ago. I just didn't realize this until a couple of days ago so I am just as new as the global launch.

Some tips.
Spend gems mostly on gold.
Never buy chests.
Buy at least 3 common and a rare every day from the shop as donating them makes a profit.
In general buy 3 rares every day unless it is one you are sure you never use.
Focus on upgrading rares as upgrading epics takes ages and lots of gold. Spending the same amount of gold on a rare and an epic results in a rare that is stronger than the epic.

Pay to win game as there is no way to beat significantly higher level players no matter how dumb they play.

Soft launch was 2 months ago in about 9 countries only. Just started playing last night and same issues as others mentioned already. 3h for silver chests is bonkers, rlly slow game if you arent willing to spend gems. Also not sure why they didnt reset everyone for the global launch but then again people prob could already have used gems from the soft launch on...

Game is better than I thought, never been a fan of hearthstone but Clash Royale seems bit more appealing for now if u take out the waiting times. This might only be a game to play 15min a day tho... Only lvl 2 so still need to make it to a clan... Give me another day for lvl3 lol.

Super fun game so far. Agree with everyone else though that wait times are pretty absurd. They really need to add some kind of small benefit to keep playing after you can't get anymore chests.

More xp means higher levels and higher levels have stronger towers. This means it is important to request and donate cards as that gives xp and gold. You can buy a rare from the shop every day and donate it for a 10g and xp profit, the second one is breakeven. Apparently you get commons faster than the gold you need to upgrade them at higher levels so donating them is also good.

Same comments and annoyances as everyone else.

You don't get xp by attacking without a chest spot open

Has everyone watched one of the replays in the right most tab?
You get an achievement, but also interesting to see how others play with big troops

My 4 yo is undefeated playing in between chest availability

It's almost literally impossible to lose a game on your way to level ~4 or 5. I swear I was playing people with mental handicaps

If you only play when you can get a chest then you end up playing way below your max trophy level and possibly in a lower arena which means worse chests. Always try to get into the next arena before the next chest spot opens.

Found this out, first chest at arena2 was significantly better than anything at arena1.

Definitely worth grinding even when chest slots are full.

Yes, you can check the trophy levels required by just touching the arena. It will show all arenas and their minimum trophy level. Which arena you play in is decided by the player with the highest trophy level in the match.
