When you say raids you mean outside of war?

If you use them in every day battles i am curious what kind of ROI you get with them if that's the case?

Pretty mediocre roi for elix, especially if I have to use 2-3 spells. I used to roll with 2 rage and 1 lightening for CC when I had maxed my th8 elix upgrades. But now elix is precious with all the new stuff I need to do at th9. So I use 2 heals if need be.

I haven't done the exact math, but (with bonus) I need 100k+ elix and like 450-500 de in a raid just to be break even. Not ideal, especially after the new update. I find myself doing lots more upgrades that require gold and grinding the elix upgrades :/

Instead of the one-gem boost they should finish in-progress upgrades.

But if your ROI is higher how is it a "time suck"?

If you gave it a try you might like how easy it is. I generally set my barracks like this. 60 archers, 60 archers, 55 gob, and 7 wb/the rest barb. I do this and then log back in later.

Use the arch and barbs to clear around the outside and then the wbs and gobs to get stuff in the middle. I use spells abut half the time. Usually it's one rage5 right where the wbs and gobs are going.

Ballonion can be ok for farming dark and gold but is a decent elixir drain because you end up grabbing huge scores of dark that return no elixir.

I've found barb/arch/minions is by far the superior farming technique. I que up 3 barracks with archers, 1 with barbs then both dark barracks with minions. I just keep them at max que and and the army trains in well under 20 minutes, I use heros for bases with big scores and never need spells. Very similar to barch but easier to get in the middle with the minions.

As for a farming clan, Steve you should probably gauge interest via clan mail. Also, it should be named Poker Degens Farm.

I totally agree that BAM is an awesome farming army. I used it for a long time at th7 and 8. But I also noticed that as the collector raids dried up, it became less effective for me when I couldn't get into the core and hit storages. And definitely not good to farm de as mentioned. I think part of it is also that I would open myself up for more raids against me the more I broke shield to use BAM all the time, even with th outside the wall.

It could definitely be that I am trying to farm in the wrong trophy range and I haven't played around much with dropping down. I just like the bonus too much higher up I think. Seems like collector raids pick up during these 1 gem events though, so maybe I'll give BAM a shot again

this - I had to drop out because I don't have the time to war that much right now. Would like to be in a farming clan, or a clan that wars like once a season or so.

Has anyone used a lava hound in an attack yet?

I made one but haven't used it as I'm not sure how effective it will be with my 27 maxed hog riders, 10 lvl5 wizards, 15 lvl5 archors, 5 lvl6 wall breakers and 5 helling spells.

It will be a giant waste for that army. It pairs well with loons.

Hounds are useless if you are using a ground army. from what I've seen about their gameplay they can be useful in conjunction with like mass balloon if you time the attck right. They do **** all damage and get hit by a ton of defences so you have to follow up with power troops like right away.
