Lvl 6 DE drill is 100/hr, so 2400/day in DE per maxed drill. That's great, but it's not more important than upgrading your offense first.

When you get to a new TH level, you lose some of the targets you were able to hit with your previous TH level due to the loot penalty.

As such, you need to get your offense up to snuff first so that you can be an effective raider (and afford all the myriad upgrades beyond just your offense)

You can sometimes hit a target that will give you as much (or more) DE in one attack than your maxed DE drill will provide you in 24 hours. That is why offense is so important to upgrade initially.

Don't get me wrong, I've got both my DE drills to lvl 6 and the extra 4800 dark elixir I get per day helps (hero upgrades are hitting the 70,000 DE mark and I'm not even at the halfway point) but they still don't replace raiding, they just supplement it.

An effective barch farmer at TH9 rarely uses his entire army so those 20 extra spots at TH9 don't do much if you barch. And so far I still easily get my gold/elixir maxed using barch only and get enough DE to keep my AQ upgrades going. The only reason I am upgrading my camps early is because they do make a big difference in war.

DE30k for AQ5
E6m for L6 Giants
G5m for L5 CC

These price tags are not fun. Back in the day if you'd have told me getting DE30k would be the easy upgrade I'd have been flabbergasted.

Thankfully I'm 80% on the gold...unsure how itf I'm going to get E back to 6m...sigh.

I started my own no defense 3rd account recently. Good times so far. Th4. Of course I'm maxing out the only cannon I have for ****s a giggles. Grind with only 2 builders. Been debating on if I need 4 builders or if 3 will do the trick. Richard, you are "what defense" right? How many builders you roll with?

right on. I'll probably just drop $20 on it for 4 and a few extra gems. Not building defenses is pretty awesome. I plan on building walls and sinking gold into that. I'll use the walls to go around the entire map edge, make pretty designs and write cool stuff
