I liked watching both guy's stream in the past but was intentionally avoiding the marathon because I didn't want stuff spoiled. Just punted ANOTHER blue baby run. Only my 2nd one got the knife, Loki horns, AND triple shot. Was in the cathedral and accidentally hit a die that rerolled my build to garbage. Still killed Isaac but get rekt in the chest.

Hmm, I wasn't watching chat close enough to know the exact sequence of events. I had thought (and I could be way wrong here), that it was spoiled on Reddit first and then brought to their chat. If it was one of their mods that cracked the secret just to benefit their stream, then that is unfortunate and I would then say your original rant has some merit.

I'm going to go back to the archived video and see what Cobalt was saying on the stream during that time.

So take the first mechanic, once it happens, a flag is changed to indicate that secret part 1 is complete, and so on. There wouldn't have to be any sort of notification of anything until the last piece is complete, and you would be left wondering what specifically unlocked it. The way it is now, it was never, ever, ever going to be unlocked by anyone inadvertently, it was going to always be done intentionally, which makes it ripe for spoiling

That being said,

Richard unquestionably has 0% of any blame since he was sleeping the whole time.

Cobalt has 0% of the blame since he was streaming and wanting to help out with the puzzle pieces. He never said anything like "Boys, let's hack this to figure out the secret." He was totally on board with puzzle piece gathering.

If you're going to blame the person who hacked the secrets, then keep in mind that people involved in Isaac creation basically said it would take around 2 months for this to all be figured out. That's basically throwing down the gauntlet, asking for people to try to hack around and figure it out in other ways than intended, IMO. I mean, once you figure out how much time is involved with finding puzzle pieces, figure out there are multiple puzzles all with many pieces, of course people are going to try to figure out a quicker way of solving it. It's 2014, and the Isaac audience is basically the exact wrong audience to try to get to legitimately solve a puzzle that is intended to take a long time to solve.

Yes provided you have a couple containers also

spark plug gives you unlimited charges as well (think you need 3 red container) its the easiest way to get the meatboy/bandage girl achievement since they troll super hard get 3 piece meatboy death drops bandages or you get conquest

Get monster manual and spam that for 10mins and eventually get both

In the character selection screen there's a notepad type thingy on the top left, if it has a heart on it you've beaten the heart with that character.

kill satan 5 times, isaac 5 times, then the one boss that follows once and you unlock it. it's really easy, and not like the old game where you had to unlock every item and then collect them.

Don't you need all 16 endings? the last one takes some work

God I've ruined like 4 runs by being under spawn of the wrong Mom foot Item, just so frustrating when you have an OP run and you needed to go 1 way and can't now

You don't need all the endings for Golden God, I assume that you need them for Platinum God though.

Haven't played much with Isaac himself. Only had the mom's heart kill on him. I do have the Negative unlocked though.

So I start up Isaac this morning before work, curse room to the left has 3 red chests. Guppy's paw, spiders, and the last one teleports me to the joker room. Here, I find 9 lives, guppy's tail and the nail. First floor Guppy, sweet!

Item room on the first floor has Technology.

Long story short, I am an absolute MONSTROSITY by Necropolis 2. I find one of those rooms with the bed in it. I do the thing and get all excited for my extra free item (I'm super fast btw) so I'm already moving in that direction as the hole pops.

As it opens I see red. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU it just sent me to the Depths without fighting mom.

No boss rush. No negative. FML. I killed Mom's Heart/Satan in about 5 seconds each. Longest part of the Satan fight was the transitions.

Watch out which holes you go into, folks!

Yeah I agree with you. I reread my post and it was pretty ******ed. Not that it's an excuse but I had just come from reading Edmund's thoughts about it and was confirmed mad. In the days of youtube/twitch/reddit etc, expecting secrets like that not to get mined, hacked or whatever is pretty ignorant. Especially with a game like Isaac. I'm still salty about how the secrets got out but blaming the streamers for hacking it when they clearly had nothing to do with it was wrong. The point of the secret was for it to be a community thing so asking for help was fine.
