Fortunately there's also vanilla LTTP as part of the Zelda1-Zelda2-LTTP relay, yay.

I've never been a fan of this game but it is obviously the one with that Oh WOW moment for every newcomer, so great choice overall.
That was a pretty good run with some insane dodges at a point (larsa?).
I remember this guy's quest to clear this game, he has played this for more than 10 years now and he dedicated his gaming life to it.
Haven't followed the scene for a while so I don't know if he plays anything else.

When I say one of my favourite games, I really mean Futari Black Label which plays very differently to what gus played. I still enjoy Version 1.01 or 1.5 just not as much as Black Label.

But yeah, perfect game and perfect player to showcase and get some shmup hype happening so there can be more runs at GDQ in the future.

As for gus, he still only plays Futari Ultra and occasionally F-Zero GX. He was actually really nervous about the run at GDQ and said on stream about how he thought there was a slim chance he would clear so it was extra awesome to see him clutch it.

They've started listing the pronouns the runners etc would like people to use, probably because someone who identifies as a meerkat got really offended

Actually its becoming quite standard. Some of the largest companies in the world are beginning to have people include preferred pronouns in their email signatures.

Not really a big deal at all.

It's sort of a big deal because they've turned pronouns into weapons in what might be the dumbest line in the sand in human history. E-mail signatures used to be so simple. Name, title, contact info. Then we got 3 paragraphs about how bad it is to print e-mails at the bottom of everyone's corporate-assigned template. Then the disclaimer about how it's illegal to read e-mails that weren't intended for you. Now pronouns. Next, societal oppression scores.

This goes right up there with the people with random PHDs getting pissed off if you don't refer to them as "Doctor". For some reason it's always the ones in education. Do the education doctorate students get picked on more than other areas of study? What causes this inferiority complex?


By year 2026 I look forward to getting another few hundred, "Thanks" e-mails, each followed by a 3000 word signature that now includes apologies for any atrocities committed by that person's ancestors.

As always, Inso is at the top of the logic food chain, where long emails and requested pronoun use are weapons, but guns are tools.

Like, its really super easy for someone to say "I know I look feminine, but my name is John and I prefer to be called he or him when being referenced" and another person to say "ok, makes sense"

Its also super easy if you cant understand how to use a pronoun correctly to just refer to somebody by their name.

Hooray, I have solved any and all issues you may have had with pronouns being used as weapons. You can now go about reading emails and watching people play video games fast in peace.

Look, friend; it's okay to recognize the ridiculousness of having to waste very limited screen space to outline someone's preferred pronouns when each and every one of us have eyeballs and can see someone wearing a wig and lipstick. Your wokeness is not being challenged here.

Its 2020, even a "small" 23 or 24 inch monitor will have absolutely negligible screen space taken up by the 26 characters it takes to type "Preferred pronouns: he/him" unless you are some ****ing boomer who has his screen size set at 175%.
