Ive been having a lot of fun playing blue a bit more often (I used to almost completely skip blue everytime unless I got like luna +4 portals or kanna)

Yeah it's super fun playing in those. I've also made it into the AOC November final for top 8 of the month which will be played on Saturday and pays out at least $25 for all 8 people so I've actually made the money back that I spent for the game

unbelievable dumb things i ve done so far:
1. had something like a duel card, but i somehow made my heros fight each other. not an advanced play to get them in fountain, just killed my own dude.
2. somehow didnt realize the card that heals your tower +7 was also a unit. thought it was just a +7 tower hp then done. had 2 in my hand and would have easily won but didnt play them

I put 2 Bounty Hunter bounties on my own guy figuring I'll be 20 gold richer at the end of the turn. Game is like: "Are you completely sure you want to do this??" both times and I was looking around in the settings if I could remove those warnings so they wouldn't annoy me during my insane high-IQ plays.

Pretty good Drow Ranger green/black deck, blew it with a double Axe deck that was much better though.

Yeah I think I only got a nice fat Revtel going in just one game.

Drow Ranger is insane but people also made huge mistakes against it(I'd guess most people that play draft, including me, don't even know the signature cards for the vast majority of heroes by heart so kinda understandable), namely:

a) If you leave a lane uncontested for your opponent and Drow Ranger is on that lane and therefore can live the entire game giving out her +1 attack to all allies, you're probably going to lose. Also, if you're the guy with Drow, you'd rather have her on the third lane rather than first since if she dies there, she got to give out her buff for the previous two lanes.

b) Gust(Silence all enemy heroes) is a 4 mana card that straight up wins games on its own, you can easily mitigate some of its damage by trying extra hard to have initiative and to throw down your higher mana stuff as the first thing instead of that baiting fps. If you have 3x of something in your deck then you're a flip to hold at least a copy by turn 7 so you absolutely should think about it at all times.

Probably obvious for any constructed player and people actually good at this.

ya the only thing im not sure is when shes best on the flop or as 4th hero. might depend on if you got a lot of 2-3 mana green or mostly 4th.

sending her 4th could guarantee her a safespot in the lane of your choice though

Yeah that's clearly a mistake in the draft I linked, I was thinking that the extra point for my other two heroes for the first round is worth it but prob not. Thing is, when you've still got a zero in the "perfect run" counter you roll the dice and yolo.

Finally finished my first draft. Went 2-2-1. I don't have a lot of time to play. Anyway, it become pretty apparent that in the 4th and 5th games I played that I didn't have any stopping power. I was getting knocked around without having anything to follow up with. Ended up just conceding the last one because I knew there was no chance and I saw enough of my terrible deck. haha

New casual draft deck that I put together. Thoughts? I was trying to use Artibuff, but I read the other day that it hasn't been updated since the beta. I have some blue, but wanted to try to avoid 3 colors this time.

I think your deck doesn't really support a 3rd black hero. You have some not so good cards in there (Assassin's Shadow, Ravenhook, Arcane Censure) and even those only get you to 20 black cards. If you have good blue cards I'd rather have those.

Just had a pretty satisfying win. I'm not great at the game so each win feels like an accomplishment.

We were both down a tower. He had left lane covered with heroes and creeps. There was no way I was getting enough damage on middle and his right lane was already down so I had to go heavy on left. I think his left tower was around 26 and I was going to do 21 damage next round. Left lane had blue and black on it. I town portaled Farvhan (green) out of the right lane so I could redeploy him.

Next round, he puts two heroes in the middle lane and I take Farvhan and another black and put on left. All I had to do was find a way to do 5 more damage since I would have first chance to attack left before he could do anything mid.

As the round begins, the arrows push some of my heroes to a creep and now I'm only doing 6 damage! WTH!

Luckily, I had thrown down a March of the Machines prior to this so as soon as the round began, 2 damage went to his creeps and poooof, he had only one hero on the lane. Throw out an Intimidation to clear his hero, then Disciple of Nevermore, and get 40 damage to his tower for the win.

There's nothing wrong playing 3 colours, most decks will end up being 3 colour decks as it's rare to get enough quality cards in two. I don't really even worry if I end up going 4 colours, think half of my 4 colour decks have gone 5.

I was watching some youtube videos and it seems like early on in the draft it's all about the best cards and then it'll evolve into picking colors. Based on reviewing the cards through Artibuff, it felt like a pretty weak draft, but I don't know. I wish I could just draft, play a game, and then draft again. I find it fun to see which cards will come up.

Outworld devourer is probably the worst hero in the game, you're far better off going with j'muy

I disagree. You should pretty much always go for 2 colors, 3-color decks just have so many issues with spells of wrong colors at wrong times.

good tier list to see when to use heroes over basic ones (and most importantly when not to!)



i dont agree with everything on this tier list (like beastmaster should be a lot closer to bristleback in draft imo, the whole C tier blue heroes seems a bit out of whack)

But I do agree about never picking lion, bloodseeker, storm, pugna, tidehunter, rix, cm, od, meepo.


I usually pick farvhan over viper too.


If you got one debbi already, adding necrophos is better than 2nd debbie, same for centaur over 2nd keefe, etc. I'd play 2 farvhan over farvhan+rix tho
