So apparently valve (mistakenly?) included the game as part of the "Valve Complete Collection" on steam, making it on sale for -55%, leading to people repeatedly purchasing the game and immediately selling the cards opened in the 10 packs for more than they paid for them, crashing the market. Looks like they fixed that and the market has recovered somewhat but yeah wtf.

timbersaw looks like a mofockin tank now. Lions new thing seems a bit weird but if its as good as it sounds hes probly better than debbi now?

This is pretty big. Balancing cards and offering a buyback process for people who don't want to hold on to the nerfed cards. Hopefully this buyback process is going to be their go-to process, kind of like offering full dust back in HS / Eternal / etc. I am sure some people will still be upset about this, but favoring a balanced competitive environment over a stock market simulator is going to be best for the long term health of the game.

Unfortunately this game already lost me to MTGA after a less than captivating release but it's exciting that this could get some needed momentum for Artifact. I want to see this game successful.

Yeah it's looking bleak but I guess the question is whether the Valve factor can start taking over now and build back a player base. They can throw a lot of money and advertising at it once they get to the point where the existing player base is happier with the game.

holy **** most insane tied game i ever managed to pull off

I never killed omniknight, sven, enchantress throughout the WHOLE game, i think only 1 kill on chen and darkseer each(thats my core on the left o_o)

He bought for way over 60g of items while I barely got 15 gold in the whole game, and even times of triumphed his mid 2 turns ago

(and yes thats a whooping 17/4/19 sven with 7 retaliate and 12 cleave )

My drafts have started trainwrecking frequently. Everyone is valuing the cards the same at this point and every deck pretty much wants the same cards. Open a couple of crappy packs and you're stuck running a bunch of Oglodi Catapults.

This set kinda sucks to draft. The games are fun though.

Is constructed fun?

hitting draft rating 72 which is probably one of the highest in the world right now (75 is max). Been a pretty fun objective to grind so far.

You really have quite a lot of junk in 4-color deck. The strong heroes + bunch of free wraths are obviously good, though.

I dont feel like he has a single bad card. worst card is like grazing shot which is pretty solid especially cross lane with a single color. Probably defensive bloom after but thats another pretty solid card even without a ton of buffs. Items are bad but thats not color related

According to a recent Kotaku article, card prices have crashed so much you can buy a complete collection for $100. That's a steal compared to virtually every other card game ever made.

Valves own game is almost outside the top 250 on steamcharts. Such a great game, but so many mistakes have been made.

I feel like their $1M tournament will be cancelled too. But that would probably be the end for this game.

It might be hard to convince people to commit into a new digital card game which success is unknown where you have to buy every set. MTG is such a cash-grab but at least those cards have some resale-value. With a new game, it all might come crashing down.

The game itself is very solid, so don't put it past Valve to relaunch after some tweaks to the model.

Final Fantasy 14 was a massive failure upon initial launch, that went back to the drawing board for a year and seems to be doing great now.
