There are just things you can "earn" by playing/gaining levels. In some games, like PUBG, there's a challenge system layered over the game like "today's challenge is to get 4 kills with an SMG" or something, that will give extra points.

Typically if you don't buy the pass, you don't get to keep most of what you earned, if you buy it, you do. It literally is just an opt in to extra cosmetic stuff.

I read that if you earn all the Apex Coins rewards in the Battle Pass, it's 1,000 coins. So, if you play enough, you can earn the next Battle Pass.

So I just stared to pick up the flatline, way better gun than I thought it was? Would almost always aim for a 301 or r99/shotty but flatline is rly good.

Honestly I think that almost everything is good except alternator, mozambique and r2020 and r45. I'm generally happy with almost anything else. I've been carrying the Havok a lot, in single fire you can fire it very rapidly, it's pretty accurate, put a site on there and spam-fire at distance.

A friend of mine calls the r-99 a trap and I sort of agree. It is very hard to secure a kill with one magazine so you need a plan. Either you need to switch immediately to weapon 2 to get the kill or have someplace safe for the reload. I have died a LOT of times reloading the damn thing. Getting a lv3 mag for it is really a requirement.

I have been going (devotion or spitfire) + (peacekeeper or wingman) quite a bit. I sort of try different loadouts.

I got Octane today. Interesting but IMO not a top tier legend. His ult is hot balls, his normal ability is great and has a short cooldown. Passive is 1hp heal per 2s I think, which is fine but not super useful. I am basically never going to wait to heal if I can avoid it.

So far today I played 8 or 9 games, probably knocked 11 or 12 guys, zero kills. Feels bad man.

Yeah, holy **** you're right. I played 3 or 4 games before bed and didn't even advance one level.

I played for probably 70-90 minutes and made level 2

You get a "legend bonus" which appears to be related to your max survival time, and I think it caps out at 25k/legend, so once you start getting zero legend points you probably want to switch legends.

I have been trying Octane. The cooldown on his speedup is very short, which is nice, the speedup is great. But his ult is IMO trash, and his passive is weak.

I haven't used Octane yet, but yeah, from watching him, his ultimate is lame. Really, he has one ability, and that's his speed boost. His passive really just supports that ability, as it regens the health he loses from it.

The passive isn't amazing, but it's certainly useful. It can allow you to heal up after a fight without using any items (obviously if another fight breaks out quickly, you might be screwed, but lots of times, there's a long lull until the next one). I could definitely see someone like me using him, as I often find myself needing to run the **** away from trouble.

I have enough points or whatever they are called to get one locked hero, but I might just wait for a while, since I have no need to get one.

Yeah but the thing is, I always have a ****load of healing on me because it's everywhere, and I am not going to run around at half health just because theoretically I'll be fully healed 2 minutes from now, I'm just going to heal now. I'd only skip healing if I was within 10 points of full.

that would be amazing and stop hackers too. put everyone with battle pass in 1 que. i mean i guess it wouldnt STOP hackers, but since apex is a free game, hackers would have to keep buying a battle pass every time they got banned. jesus why has no company implemented this as a incentive to play apex

PUBG costs $30 but there were still plenty of cheaters. Although also, you could make money by farming loot crates and selling them so maybe that was an incentive for some of the cheating. BFV was $30-60 and plenty of cheaters there too (IMO, never had definitive proof)

The bunny hopping thing is present in a lot of FPSes, I knew it could be done but I can't really do it either. It takes some getting used to, and then allegedly you can do it pretty much all the time.

Bunny hopping while you shield or med kit is insanely useful to escape.

If you don't play with friends who know the game and just go in with randoms, that's exactly what it feels like.
I got killed the other day by someone with 19.100 kills, he just brushed off my team by himself

Watch some of these guys after you get killed - often they're blatantly cheating (and sometimes they're just really good)

Small update but they added some nice features for making squads, etc.

The game is a lot less fun when solo queueing but I just can't help myself from jumping on and playing even when I have a few spare minutes. I have definitely become a good supporting player; I'm never going to be the 15 kill 2k damage MVP but I can hold my own fine and it's a lot more prevalent when I join with randoms that I'll be the best player in my squad. Also more frustrating too, ha.

You can mute the whole squad before game starts now. Sweet.

Probably the change with the most annoyance for me is that now at the end of a match you don't press "space" to end the match, but you have to use "escape"

Also I am still pissed that at the start of the battle pass they made Bangalore into someone who spouts advice about LITERALLY ****ING EVERYTHING ALWAYS and makes no one want to choose her.

I have had a lot of really good games and I am getting a better feel for the game but I can not close to save my life. I have had, I think, 1 win since the season started. I haven't been playing a LOT, but I'm around level 14 in the battle pass if that helps place it.

So so many 2nd and 3rd place finishes.

I want them to add solos at this point
