I dare say my predictions weren't too bad, with two exceptions. Actual standings after one round:
1. KT Rolster (+2 vs my prediction)
2. Samsung Galaxy (+4)
3. SKT1 (-2)
4. Jin Air (0)
5. IM (0)
6. CJ Entus (-4)
7. MVP (0)
8. Prime (0)
So, four teams dead on, two teams close, two teams way off. Given that KT and SKT1 are separated by just one game (6-1 vs 5-2), I'll take that one, and it's still inarguable that SKT1 has the strongest lineup in the league, two losses or not.
For the teams I was way off on - apparently Roro just feeds off anti-team selections, because after doing literally nothing in his career after the HotS release (out of Code S in two seasons, out of Hot6ix Cup in first round), he's somehow 5-1 and looking like he's in total command of how to build fearsome lategame armies again. Shine, aka that super cheesy Zerg that made a GSL Ro16 once, is 4-0, and relative unknown Solar is 4-2 including an inspirational double-win against sOs. All their non-Zergs suck but that doesn't appear to matter for them now. It will down the road, I think.
And I guess I overestimated the Coach Park effect for CJ Entus, cause wow they suck despite having a fairly talented roster. Sora may not have been around long enough to be in the Rain/Parting tier of Protosses but his results may indicate he belongs there, and Hero recently won an IEM and has shown in the past he can be a top-tier Protoss. Unfortunately, Hydra has been the worst player in Proleague (0-5), Effort has barely played??? (1-2), and they're lacking in Terran skill (Bunny/Bbyong combined 1-2). Hopefully Hydra will figure his **** out, Coach Park will play Effort more, and Gumiho will bolster their lineup to get them back where they belong.
Also, let the history books show that YongHwa's loss last night was the final dagger in IM's playoff hopes. Good one, buddy.
