A List on TOTAL Tournament Results A List on TOTAL Tournament Results

Does anyone compile a list of tournament results for the players SUBTRACTING the uncashed (and cashed for that matter) buy ins? If not, perhaps someone here might like to do that and post them on a regular basis.

How would one do this comprehensively though? I've never known casinos to release a complete entry list for an open tournament. Is that information ever available?

All,

At least for major events (and many minor events), this could be done reasonably easily by mining Cardplayer data.

I really wanna know which one of these supposed "pros" is stuck the worst overall.

David, you are right...someone would have to take this on. It is my belief that no one is doing this for live MTT's.

I asked this question on the MTT forum a few months ago & the consensus was no one was collecting complete data.

The CP Player db tracks cashes based on casino submissions. Casinnos do not record/report non-cash finishes to my knowledge. So, CP-like db's have no way to match up total entries to total cashes/non-cashes for any given player. For example, Barry Greenstein busting out in the first hour or so of the WSOP-C ME in Tunica last Fall was not tracked, except in some of the media text reports. So, without a standard of recording & reporting total activity - no reliable method of computing "batting averages"/"ROI", without someone performing a manual process.

El D,

I don't know how "reasonably easy" data mining CP db's might be. Not totally sure, but, I don't think they collect registration data, just cashes at the event level by player. If they did collect both, it would be a resonably easy task, but not trivial to: format, download, organize, sort and report. Keying off of something reasonably unique like "event name-buyin/event date/player first name/player last name/player location". From that, one could create a searchable player stats db for the "top nnn" players and report out info like computations of cashed:entered ratios by player.

my 2 cents anyway...Cheers

Snow, I don't think total "stuck" data is knowable. You would probably have to be privy to contractual T's & C's between the pro and whatever poker related enterprise they represent, and other backers. Who knows how much money they make/share for all of those sources vs. how much they personally risk?

This is why some sort of TOURNAMENT PLAYERS ASSOCIATION is needed.
Keep detail list of all the tournament buy-ins. Number of tournaments played and so on.
