PokerStars Zoom, Hold'em No Limit - $0.08/$0.16 - 6 players
Replay this hand on Upswing Poker

UTG: $17.54 (110 bb)
MP: $16.00 (100 bb)
CO: $16.00 (100 bb)
BU: $23.29 (146 bb)
SB: $18.76 (117 bb)
BB (Hero): $21.16 (132 bb)

Pre-Flop: ($0.24) Hero is BB with J J
UTG calls $0.16, 1 fold, CO raises to $0.64, 2 players fold, Hero 3-bets to $2.56, UTG calls $2.40, 1 fold

Flop: ($5.84) A 2 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $1.44, UTG raises to $2.88, Hero calls $1.44

Turn: ($11.60) A (2 players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $12.10 (all-in)

Was a weird spot, usually a limp/call would be aces or trash (both are bad plays imo), but when 2 aces come it makes that less likely.

Thoughts?

Why do all of my threads end up with a glitchy format, can anyone else see it or it's just me?

What'd be your reasoning for folding?

What's our reasoning for calling? Our cold 3-bet range should be pretty strong, flop is dry as the Sahara, and villain is dumping money into the pot anyway. I'm not stationing off with meh bluffcatchers on a line where we look pretty strong unless we have some sort of read that villain is super aggro. We should have enough Ax combos to prevent ourselves from losing money to 72o bluffs

We need to call some non Ax hands if we range bet flop.
Do you have any info on UTG?

Well what value does he have here?

He limped UTG then called a cold 3bet from the SB, to me that looks pretty fishy.

Some players do this with AA, but what else could he have? KK I feel would rip pre, QQ maybe, maybe not, but either way why would it raise the flop? TT same, any underpair same.

What Ax is he flatting pre that he min-raises the flop? AK? Why wouldn't he raise bigger/4bet.

22/77 make sense, but why is he overbet jamming turn with those and giving me opportunity to fold an ace?

When the turn comes I think AA is less likely.

This was my thought process, but just keen to see how others would play it.

What Ax can I call? He's repping AK/boats/quads

Very fishy, so I'd expect range to be pretty wide. Not sure about stars, but on ignition, I see people do this with A3o, A4s, etc.

I'm calling all AT+ (we shouldn't have any more than that, right?). I expect to mostly dominate another Ax, sometimes lose to boats, and sometimes see a total airball bluff. Ax also has the advantage of blocking other Ax hands, and still has equity against a boat.

Why would you think about calling JJ if you only think this is QQ/KK/AK?

I'm saying I think this is only AK, 22, 77 or AA, so his value range is extremely thin.

I think KK/QQ would get it in pre or just flat the flop.

You cant fold any Ax ott. Some fishes will spazz pretty hard vs small cbet.

I agree, I’m just saying that we probably don’t really have any Ax worse than AT or so

I called and he showed pocket 3's, marked as a fish.

Thought it was an interesting spot, as he could have just been overplaying a boat/quads, but apart from that nothing else really made sense. I occasionally see weird plays at this stake like this, usually I call if it looks strange.

Thanks guys
