I probably would've 4-bet.

SB can either be leading out with air, has an overpair like QQ, KK or (unlikely given the 3-bet) hit top pair, or maybe even a drawing hand like JQ. I would probably raise here. Just my 2c, I'm only a novice microstakes player as well.
