^ I'm gonna extrapolate on not firing turn by arguing that I don't think a cbet is good either. Too often the fish shortstack is gonna shove and we'd probably price ourselves in to call with a draw that doesn't really have much clean outs (clubs give flush, jack gives higher straight potentially). Would prob check back flop because BTN also should play straightforward vs. the fish.

Loving the logic in this post. Don't want to potentially pot commit ourselves when we may be drawing VERY thin or already drawing dead.

I've been running like Stephen Hawking since I signed up for iron man. Unsure whether to play this evening or take it off and just mess around on 2+2 and watch some CR vids. Another bad beat or two and I'll have to stop anyway for fear of monkey tilt. Already caught up on my hand reviews. That said anyone up for a sweat?

loldonk: Yeah, the cbet seems iffy. I thought we were HU, in which case it's fine to cbet here cause we'll get him to fold 22-88 pretty much always...

Villain is a reg who 3bets a lot and we have a very aggressive dynamic with 3- and 4-betting each other. here we are 140bb deep.

Merge - $0.10 NL - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

SB: $8.53
BB: $9.90
UTG: $10.00
Hero (MP): $18.88
CO: $13.71
BTN: $8.01

SB posts SB $0.05, BB posts BB $0.10

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero has K A

fold, Hero raises to $0.28, CO raises to $0.99, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.71

Flop: ($2.13, 2 players) 2 5 4
Hero checks, CO bets $1.59, Hero calls $1.59

Turn: ($5.31, 2 players) 8
Hero checks, CO bets $3.98, Hero raises to $16.30 and is all-in

Rb: 4b/c this pre, especially since you have a dynamic. Doesn't matter too much that it's 140bb with a dynamic.

I don't know if he'll b/f anything that he bets for value on the turn... Depends on your reads about how wide he 2barrels.

4 bet call pre?
AKs is the nuts vs someone with confirmed light 3 betting tendencies.
Postflop I love.
You only need like 10% fold equity to make this profitable combined with your pot equity vs QQ.
Reckon you have closer to 40% when you put AK,AQ and 3b bluffs (whether they are merged or polarized).
As long as villain isn't the cbet / give up type in 3b pots It's tasty.

he likes to flat my 4bets and then make moves postflop. does that affect the decision to 4b vs flat in any way?

4bet bigger and see how well he can makes moves with a 3:1 SPR lol

Serious reply: If he's making moves post flop and IP, how well do you think you're going to be able to play AcKc OoP?

i got a few moves of my own lol!

but you're right, i was just too scared of 4bet/getting it in for 140bb with ace high, and it was probably the wrong decision. Luckily he called and I binked the river.

Playing with guys like this on your left is no need at 10NL without a good reason.

Hero bets $1.90, UTG raises to $8.55, UTG says "race"

when people type in the chat box are they usually lying or telling the truth?

depends on the guy and dynamic imo but i just ignore them
call here or jam if you have some nickels still behind

Cannot fold there readless. If he is an uber passive fish it might be ok.

Chat doesnt tell you much, will only confuse you.

check his WTSD, but since it's 10NL he probably doesn't fold a king. WTSD 28+, don't bother barreling turn. otherwise I'd like it. bet turn bigger and river smaller though. like 1.2 on turn and then 3.6 on river. 1barrel or 3barrel spot given how board ran out (usually a 1 barrel spot since its 10nl and no one folds anything).

wp postflop but you can make a case for getting it in pre
