Nice thread. I archived the link on the wiki for those of us who can never find these when we're looking for them.

Also the wiki article is a mess (just a shorter post I stuck in there); everyone's invited to edit/fix it as appropriate.

Outstanding post, Pokey!

I've read almost all of your "basic" posts and you never failed to hit the nail on all aspects of solid ABC-style SSNL poker (oh, and I mean this as a compliment).

I think your beginner's book IS ready! Just bind all your articles together and it's done.

I don't fear that this will make the average opponent better. Most players at these levels can't be bothered with reading and learning and most of those who read it can't be bothered with the hard work to consistently put it into use.

Or just wait for someone to answer, since other people love to answer FAQs again and again. Why teach a man to fish when you can feed him each day anew?

Excellent post pokey. You obviously do a great lot of thinking about the game, and have a talent to put this into words. I would love to see a post from you regarding turn and river play.

Pokey

This post was just what I needed to get back in the poker mindset after a week in California and the stress of starting up school again after an 8 month hiatus. Thank You. If I ever meet you IRL, drinks on me!

50% = "any pair, any two suited cards, any ace, any two broadway, K5o+"

Fantastic post, just one question - Should the 20% category say "any suited broadway" rather than "any two broadway" ?
