Both the BTN and the BB were short, so I decided to make a rare cold-call in the CO. On the flop, it occurred to me that any single pair is going to have a tough time making it to showdown unimproved against my triple barrel. My made hand is weak. My draws are weak. Is it time to turn my pair into a bluff and triple barrel on bricks? Or should I just accept the free turn card?

Yeah I would definitely bet the flop and re assess on turns, the board is quite scary for a lot of the hands they will have. Think having position with this hand is good as you say they can then be put in difficult positions on later streets.

I don't mind the flat pre nor do I mind betting flop small. We aren't completely dead if called.

Thanks guys! I think I need to get better at turning pairs into bluffs, so this spot caught my interest. I come from LHE where turning a pair into a bluff is almost never a thing. Bad habits are hard to break. It sounds like this was a good opportunity to break a bad habit.
