Villain in MP is running 40/1 over 300 hands and is generally an awful player.

BTN $29.85 (119.4 bb)
SB Hero $30.41 (121.6 bb)
BB $60.14 (240.6 bb)
UTG $13.05 (52.2 bb)
MP $34.60 (138.4 bb)
CO $25.72 (102.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 2 2
UTG folds, MP calls $0.25, CO raises to $1.25, BTN folds, Hero calls $1.15, BB folds, MP calls $1

Flop: ($4) K 8 8 (3 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $0.25, CO calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.25

Turn: ($4.75) 2 (3 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $0.25, CO calls $0.25, Hero raises to $3.50, MP calls $3.25, CO folds

River: ($12) 9 (2 players)
Hero bets $25.41 and is all-in, MP calls $25.41

I don't like the shove...

I feel like he could have easily had, KK-88, K8, 99

Why are you not just betting the right amount on the river?

Way overbet.

Pushing the river is a poor choice, you're better off value betting the turn and folding to a raise if you think he has the goods (tough decision here).

You're only doing that (push) if you put the villain on a specific hand like Axs and if villain hits the flush then you get paid off.

If you put the villain on a higher boat then b/c probably is the best option rather than c/c.

Raise turn more.

If MP is awful enough to call you with a flush then I see no problem with it, but it looks better when we raise turn more.

Love the river overbet.

Let's recap:
-Villain is a huge fish that likes his call button a lot more than his raise button
-He certainly won't fold an 8 and given the action (a passive player donking two streets) it's likely he has one
-backdoor flush got there and isn't folding either

Uhh, yes. Fist pump, high 5 shove. Betting 2/3rds pot is missing value. In this case, the "right amount" is all-in.
