OK guys, had a bit of a weird situation tonight and want to see what you think..

There is this girl on my course that I am friends with called for sake of argument Jess.

So I was at a friends watching a film, and she sent me a text saying "are you out? xx" I reply saying "No, tomo though x"
Then she sent lots of texts like "come out, we are at bar berlise x"
then she says "I am up for going out tommo, come round my house b4 X's party to drink. xx"
I reply saying "I am kinda tied up atm, but will def be up 4 tomo, let me know what you are doing. X"

Then she rang me saying, are you coming out, I am at osbourne, road. We are going to floritas. I was saying I was at a friends and I would have to go back home (30 min walk) get changed, then come out. I said I might come out, and I would call her.

She then sent me a txt saying

"I don't want you I never have x"

I replied, "sorry, whats going on?"

Then, she didn't reply for like 10 mins, then sent "Hey, do you fancy staying at mine with X and X? come tgsm. x x x x"



let me just clear up a few things that makes things really complicated

1 - I have to work fairly close with her on my course
2 - She is obv quite drunk
3 - She is a nice girl, and I don't think she is going out of her way to vindictively mess me around.
4 - She had a boyfriend, not sure if they broke up or not. I think they were on bad relations anyway
5 - In the past she has been flirty with me, but nothing has happened.


Really weird situation, what do you guys thinK?

I think girls are impossible to read because they are irrational with random acts of rationality mixed in. I am going through a similar situation right now. We are spending basically all our time together, but it is still awkward to make a move and I work with her.

Radeh's rules for coping with situations like this:

1) You shall not get it on with girls that just broke up.
2) If you disregard rule #1, look at it as a one night stand and nothing more...trust me, you'll get burned otherwise.
3) If she's a friend, rule #2 is impossible to follow without destroying the friendship.
4) Don't become her replacement buttmonkey sextoy if she broke up with her boyfriend IF (!!!) you value your friendship.
5) If you fancy her, read rules 1-4 again and wait till she's fully over her past relationship before making a move.

That doesn't mean you can't go out with her though...just don't make it seem as if you're too easy to get. And don't mess with a drunk broken up girl if she's your friend.

Cliffnotes: Don't **** girl-friends (right away) who just broke up if you fancy her, or your friendship with her. If you just consider her a friend, go out and have fun, but don't take advantage of her state. Girls like that can go bat**** crazy sometimes, and it's always the dude who ends up being the ******* in the end.

(In case you didn't figure it out, I went through something similar...good times...)

Also, not sure a poker forum's the right place to ask this question...but at least it's not some MMORPG site and a lot of us are in stable relationships and not 12 year old nerds with ackne.

Sounds like she is in to you maaaajorly... ball's in your court and it's up to you to decide how you play it.

Being a similar age to you (I imagine!) and having just graduated uni, as long as your not a life-douche it's sounds like a pretty 'standard' situation... until she dropped the ""I don't want you I never have x" bomb that is... Like Radeh says, have a game plan as it sounds like it's not just a normal one night stand and by posting this on a forum I get the impression you probs like her as well?

Proceed with caution (i.e. think it through) but tbh, it's uni dude, it's pretty hard to **** it up whatever you do, lol.

Also, ShortSharpShock, SirRobertBorden and I officially signed a 3 month lease on an apartment in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. It is our new home. If anyone lives anywhere cool in Europe that they think we should visit, let me know.
