Questions on 4bet sizing and bet sizing in 3/4bet pots Questions on 4bet sizing and bet sizing in 3/4bet pots

Hey guys, I've realised recently that I don't actually know the reasons for the standard 4bet sizing of ~22-25bb facing the usual situations like a 3bb->9bb 3bet or a 4bb->12bb 3bet, can anyone explain why we size it like this and not bigger or smaller?

Also in 3bet pots (and even more so in 4bet pots), we size our cbets smaller - I've always assumed this is because we don't have to bet so big on each street to get 100bb stacks in, is that right? Does this then change if we are deeper?

Thanks for the help

if you 4bet to 22-25bbs you can fold to a jam. if you 4bet to 33bbs you cant fold anymore. assuming 100bb stacks

you are correct about cbet sizing. obv when deeper we cbet bigger

When we 4b 2.5x the 3b which is std then we have more room to do other things such as 4b bluffing, but also allows villains to make worse moves and 100bb deep we're never gnna have trouble getting it in
