This opponent is quite loose and aggro.
I'm not too sure about flop, I think facing the small bet x/r is OK. Maybe I should go smaller though.

On the turn I find their raise quite suspicious and I'm tempted to bluffcatch. On the other hand, they probably have all flop sets in their range.

€0.25 NL FAST (6 max)

BTN: 120.44 BB
SB: 111.36 BB
BB: 114.36 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has J J

fold, Hero raises to 2.48 BB, fold, BTN calls 2.48 BB, fold, fold

Hmmm. I think BTN CC is usually some suited connectors, maybe gappers too, and pocket pairs so sets fit the bill quite nicely. Some 2 pair but maybe less likely than 3oak.

On this flop with overpair I think I would be cbetting so villain can't check behind. I would opt for a larger sizing with a direct (close) overpair and maybe size down the less vulnerable the OP is (AA for example).

If I took the xR line, I would be throwing his small bet in his face with a pretty large sizing, like 12bb maybe even more depending on the villain.

I think your turn sizing is maybe a little too small

As played, turn raises are very heavily weighted towards 2p/3oak+ and it's not a fun spot but folding is probably okay, at this point there are a good bit of rivers that can potentially be difficult to play profitably so i suppose the answer lies in how well you think you can play rivers vs this villain.

Curious what you did.

Based on read that guy is loose and aggro and theres not a ton of value on this board i like 3bet jam in his face on turn because i expect him to have a lot of pair+FD, SD+FD type hands. He can have some sets too, but not much 2pair.

I'm finding it difficult not to counter merge our OP here and just bet jam for value. Primarily, how mnay 2p can he have?

He traps some sets on the flop, but he's probably 3betting TT pre. Our turn cbet is obviously quite strong from a reg perspective but a fish could still see us as overXRing the flop after their small bet/stuck in a mindgame trap.

Read = jam. No read baluga fold. We could just autofold to conserve brain energy but if this is truly an aggro fish, and that read is solid, I'm comfortable playing for stacks with an OP on a dry board. If he snaps off with T7 gg, next hand. Having some blocker pressure on the T is useful too because it unblocks TPTK/TPGK.

What loose agre mean? Give us some stats

In general BTN cold calling range is already tight, after he calls flop raise that reduces his range even more and in top of that he raises turn, so we are looking at super tight range (10 or so combos). It mostly depends dose he have AT or KT in his range if yes jam, if not folding is ok. This is very nutted line so folding should be default.

just because opponent is aggro doesn’t take away from the fact that this is a very underbluffed line by population. folding is the standard play here.

I would just fold without thinking twice... just a classic "I have a set" situation.

Ah! If Unguarded himself folds, I can go in peace !

Thanks for the answers
