Not a whale, just your NL10 player not 3betting enough preflop. I intend to x/f river because this is the worst card in the deck (I think?)

Is it OK?

€0.10 NL FAST (6 max)

BTN: 242.9 BB
SB: 175 BB
BB: 210 BB
Hero (UTG): 100 BB
MP: 168.3 BB
CO: 100 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has K A

Hero raises to 2.5 BB, MP calls 2.5 BB, fold, fold, fold, BB calls 1.5 BB

Flop: (8 BB, 3 players) 8 4 A
BB checks, Hero checks, MP bets 2.8 BB, fold, Hero raises to 12.7 BB, MP calls 9.9 BB

Turn: (33.4 BB, 2 players) 5
Hero bets 23.8 BB, MP calls 23.8 BB

River: (81 BB, 2 players) Q
Hero checks

I dont like flop XR esp for that size. Pot already otf is getting too big for our hand, bunch of runouts suck for our us and even nl10 regs wont stack off with one pair hands.

Btw idk why are you playing nl10 fast. You can find tons of huge fishes on reg tables for that limit.

Thanks, got it. I struggle vs cold calls and more often than not end up doing a lot of checks, calls and folds. I try to be a bit more aggro in those spots but I did not choose the correct board it seems.

If I was playing NL200 (and winning) I would hunt for fishes because the money would be significant. But at NL10 it doesn't matter if I win 5 BB/100 or 10 BB/100, my wealth at the end of the year will be basically the same. I prefer the fast pace + a bit better opponents.

I think xr flop is fine but other comment is correct our hand will go down a lot in equity and we'll need to navigate tons of tricky runouts. Our hand is not usually looking for stacks. I think block and x are both reasonable on turn. Folding river good. Tough for flatter to find bluffs since so much of range is SDV

You can ask yourself in each hand "how many bets does my hand want to put in?" If the answer isn't 3+ then xc flop is always reasonable. Here for our hand it's like 2.2ish. Some runouts 2, some 3.

But you do also wanna get used to xr with things besides sets and 2p.

As per the advice to boost activity in this thread, I would advise you to just triple barrell and fold to a raise either on the turn or the river.

You realise a bit more ev than you should do if you size up turn cbets a bit OOP- personally I like a 80-125b OTT.

By river I'd just block and fold to a raise unless they are overtly aggressive. Perhaps somewhere around b30. Xr is a bit fancy and puts you practically into a bit of a awkward spot by the river.

I don't see the point of x/r flop, you'll find yourself playing OOP against a stronger range (sets/big draws) in a bigger pot for no reason, at the end of the day he'll end up having him fold most of his Ax and worse pairs that you could simply charge more by barreling while controlling the size of the pot.
AP x and mostly fold.

Thanks for the input.

I check 99,9% of the time in single raise pot OOP. Even if the flop comes AKK rainbow I check.

I'm very bad at playing OOP in single raise pots, and maybe it starts with my flop """strategy""", which can be summarized like this: check.

Also block bet is one option on the river. Can still get value from AT-AJ. Like 18-22bb block
