Totally agree. I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for escrow + i.d., address, etc. Basically require everything that a poker site would.

Escrow is good. but what happens is dude sends 500 to someone, makes some bets - wins some, makes some payments, pretty soon nobody is tracking how deep he gets in, just books with him cause they remember he's escrowed, then has a blowout week and is gone. Somebody has to track that **** but nobody bothers after the first few bets.

I agree that it's not hard, but sometimes you're in a rush or in a spot where it's too inconvenient. However, if that's the case there's no reason whoever tried booking shouldn't say 'booked at the current line' and wait for someone whose on a computer to post the line or checking the site that shows the previous lines and going off that. Booking a stale line without that disclaimer is inexcusable and seems a bit sketchy imo.

+1. You shouldn't be able to buy a reputation. Escrow means squat to me. Get someone from the community to say you aren't going to scam, or post some links to OPR or whatnot saying you've got guap. Heck, post some W2's proving you're a Doctor - just do something to show us you aren't betting 80% of your BR on a game. It's meaningless to scrape together $500 as an escrow to potentially work as your entire reputation builder. If you win on the first two weeks you look like a 'reg' by week three and you could easily be betting higher amounts (who's gunna tell a winning bettor he cant bet higher?). And you're getting all that off of a $500 escrow and two weeks of run good.

Honestly people need to just be more strict on who they bet with. Don't give people action until they've proven beyond a reasonable doubt that they're trustworthy. If I was new to this site and wanted to get started I wouldn't rely on everyone else dedicating 20 minutes of their life researching my history, rather I would make a post saying 'Hi I'm so and so, here are a few sentences on why I'm legit and here are a few people who could chime in agreeing. Props to homagen having Mement_Mori stop in as a reference, thats all it really takes.

Also, if someone didn't settle a debt in a reasonable amount of time its in the communities best interest that that becomes public knowledge. We need to air on the side of caution rather than worrying about peoples feelings.
