Yes they do. Their border control policy is a joke too. One of the main reasons I'll be voting to stay in the EU is because I don't think I should have to declare why I'm entering a country and how long I plan on staying there for. Freedom of movement among first world countries is Utopia!
Dude, there's a reason why these countries have such cheap cost of living. Because they are utter **** places to live, with terrible infra-structure, poor healthcare, much lower quality of basic consumer goods and services, corrupt security/legal system. Climate is most likely dangerous, with lots of tropical storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, deadly wild animals. Also, I imagine virtually no one speaks English in that part of the world, so you have to learn Spanish/Portugese first.
So no offence, you're being extremely foolish and naive if you think living in Venezuela is better than Australia.
