Obviously I wouldn't choose Venezuela if I had to live there forever, but for a few months I would choose just about anywhere over Australia. Everything I hate about the UK is amplified in Australia. They have the 2nd most hideous accent in the world (behind New Zealand) and they are the nutlow time zone for grinding. Maybe i'm underestimating how dangerous Venezuela is but I'd rather try and lock myself in a nice apartment (if such a thing exists in Venezuela) for 3 months and do nothing but grind and eat. Rather than living in a country where you need $3k just to get by, whilst being surrounded by idiots that find enjoyment out of playing cricket and watching horse racing.


Yes they do. Their border control policy is a joke too. One of the main reasons I'll be voting to stay in the EU is because I don't think I should have to declare why I'm entering a country and how long I plan on staying there for. Freedom of movement among first world countries is Utopia!

You need to get some perspective, there are worse things in the world than having to listen to a "hideous accent". I locked myself in an apartment for 3 years playing poker in Venezuela in order to save money to get the **** out of there.

Dude, there's a reason why these countries have such cheap cost of living. Because they are utter **** places to live, with terrible infra-structure, poor healthcare, much lower quality of basic consumer goods and services, corrupt security/legal system. Climate is most likely dangerous, with lots of tropical storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, deadly wild animals. Also, I imagine virtually no one speaks English in that part of the world, so you have to learn Spanish/Portugese first.

So no offence, you're being extremely foolish and naive if you think living in Venezuela is better than Australia.
