I stayed in Thailand 6 months, mostly in Phuket, but occasionally in Krabi and Bangkok. Man I miss it. Maybe I go again after this summer and apply for 1 year visa, with the intention of staying 6-8 months Would be cool to meet if youre down there Redbarracuda!

Drawback is focusing on Pokers, steady schedule, can be bad internet connections, and cannot open Neteller.

I am leaving beginning of May as it will be rain season here (which is probably good for grinding, but meh) but plan on coming back in the future.

And yes, I am in Phuket as well. Southern part, Rawai / Nai Harn. I came on a tourist visa but enrolled in Thai language school to learn some Thai and got an educational visa which is pretty cool.

harris44 - did you meet up with the other french people that are now in chang mai? they flew there yesterday for songkran.. nice talking to you the other day at the tables as well.

How is the time zone in Asia? If you play exclusively at a small euro site, like pacific, don't you have to play at night and sleep during a day to find some traffic (NL400+)?

Red: yeah I was living in rawai last year already I met them last month, some were my roomates when we first arrived in chiang mai. songkran festival is huge here, im drunk since 72 hours already.

I got the educational visa too if you have time, come say hello in Cm!

koxx: I wake up everyday at 8am, thats fine for me, I usually sleep 6 or 7 hours a night and I was already waking up early morning when I was in france

For me the story is a bit different with the waking up and stuff. But to answer your question, I don't get to play the best times, but I do get to play and I think it's quite enough even though the traffic is slower in the morning (EU times).

spew - I won't be able to come to CM as I don't have time in my schedule for it. I am leaving for Hong Kong on 19th and returning on 25th and then I am flying back to Croatia on 11th of May. In between I plan on grinding...

If youre stuck in a timezone like +7 or +10 eg Thailand or Australia and you play 24-2550 then you need to sleep in day time and play at night time to get good traffic if you want to play any amount of hands.

Annoying but unavoidable.

You compensate less played hands with living in low cost country. And if its really important you can change your daily schedule slightly. Or you can play on more than one software.

Whatever, I will contact you guys when I go. Maybe its time to stick to topic with this thread:P

Hey,

Yeah obviously this looks fishy as hell. Getting this looked into now, thanks very much for your posts and especially the screenshot.

i have a question.
Do you use "green" Pacific soft or "blue"? (i think everyone has seen the green, but the blue is at http://www.888poker.com/rewards/intr...et-rewards.htm )
Blue is newer, but some time ago auto-reload (auto topup) didnt work. Does it now?

Hey hotcocacola,

Auto reload works in version 5.8 of the software (press alt+F4 with the software open to check what you have, it should say 5.8 not 5.7).

There are two versions because of the ongoing rebranding of Pacific Poker to 888 Poker. Both the newest green and blue versions are 5.8, so it's just a matter of personal preference which you use. Personally I feel the blue is pretty snazzy.

Ah Jon. The sarcy comment isn`t missed here. If you actually asked yourself what purpose the freerolls were there to serve, you might just begin to understand the root of my concern.

Good day

I wasn't being sarcastic in the slightest.

As for the freerolls, personally I feel that having 2500 people with accounts using the site daily (who wouldn't otherwise), probably leads to deposits/rake far outweighing the amount given away in freerolls. Just my own thoughts, nothing to do with 888.

You certainly weren`t thanking me for posting less than complimentary screenshots Jon. Maybe you call it something else........

Now, your opinion regarding having 2.5K peeps every few hours sign up for freerolls and playing on the site is good. You would think having so many accounts should lead to far more depositing players. The reality is quite different though and has been for quite some time. I`ll now refer you to the other screen shot I posted. Doesn`t look like too many of the easy-to-spot-multi-accounting freebag thieves have actually deposited and signed up to many of the mtt`s available.....is there? You see the point I am trying to make?

I`m trying not to get adversarial here Jon as I`m very happy overall with the network, site & software and really like the tournament structures. Personally, I feel the network doesn`t get the traffic it deserves and the nightly challenges with their array of quali`s don`t get the love they warrant either.

The 888 family needs more traffic Jon and these freerolls are not doing the job they done so well five years ago. They are simply being abused now. Please ask your marketing peeps to think up something new and exciting that will bring fresh blood to the tables. The MA`ing is fairly easy (I believe) for your fraud departmnt to fix. Damn, I`ll even try my best to come up with ideas myself if need be!

Haha, you may not believe me, but that is exactly what I was doing. Do you realise I don't work at 888? I'm just some kid lying in bed in England answering your questions - what you say about 888 has no real bearing on me. I am just thankful that you raised an important issue, which I can now follow up on in an attempt to make the site better.

Anyway, let's put that to one side, I am not trying to be adversarial either

I agree that clearly the guys highlighted in your screenshot are not depositing to the site. As for the other genuine accounts in the freeroll, who knows. I can certainly envision a situation where guys play all the freerolls in the week and then deposit $50 or so on the weekend to have some fun.

I'm glad you are happy with other aspects of the games. In this post in the zoo I asked for advice in making Pacific/888 more desirable to new players. I know you play on a different skin but your thoughts in that thread would still be appreciated.

You dont work for 888?

Why does your profile say "888 representative"? Wtf?

Apologies then Jon. I`m a typical grumpy old Jock in that even when I`m trying to be subtle, it looks like I`ve come out swinging.
If I`d known you had nothing to do with with 888, I would`ve just kept schtoom. The thread title and the words under your SN are very misleading and will doubtless lead to others thinking as I did.
Maybe a proper paid 888 rep could come in here and deal with real questions and concerns from network players. It`s very misleading here so I`ll refrain from any further posting in this thread and use the one you linked to.

The freerolls abuse will be much smaller starting June first, for reasons I will be able to clarify later.

It is an issue where it's hard to defend ourselves, other than saying that the resources it will take to fight it are resources we rather put into fighting other fraud issues that are more harmful, in our view.

In a perfect world, we will have unlimited resources to deal with all type of abuse.

Apologies for being a cantankerous old git but..... Does "much smaller" actually mean much smaller or does it mean that multi-account entries will be eliminated? If it`s possible to MA in freerolls it`s possible to MA in other games as well and that`s obviously a worry.

Also, I`m not really sure now which thread comments should be posted as there are two official 888 threads. Can they be merged or one closed?

I am employed by Pacific/888, my point was just that I'm not sat in an office cubicle stressing out when negative stuff is posted. I'm more than happy to agree that the site isn't perfect, and I'm happy when stuff gets brought up because it means work can start on a fix.
