It was even cooler than I thought it would be. The streetlights automatically came on, and the night insects started chirping.

That’s crazy to think that all happens so fast.

So I finally decided to play some 200 Zone even with the software issues I have been having on Ignition. I was pretty surprised at how tight the games were on a Friday night on a holiday weekend. I was expecting more 3-betting, more check-raising, more overbets, etc. But it was mostly just... tight. Even the recs seemed less spewy. I definitely didn't feel like I was getting wrecked, but that may change after I look at my opponents' hole cards tomorrow lol.

I had 3 freezes that were definitely the Ignition software acting up, and then my internet sputtered once which is rare. Hopefully tomorrow night goes smoother.

Anyone know a site that tells you how many hands are needed for specific HUD stats to be useful?

I want to clean up my HUD a bit.

Not for free that I ever saw. Upswing has a nice lab on HUD’s. The Grinder’s Manuel has a lot about HUD stats throughout the book and how many hands are needed for them to be relevant.

I misclick about once every 100k hands. Tonight, I had the immense pleasure of doing it with a clean top 2 against a shortstacked min 3-bettor with top 2 on the flop at 4x my normal stakes. He had just min bet the flop too. The fold button isn't even close to my raise buttons lol. I think I just got too happy and hand spazzed.

The 200 Zone games were a lot more like I expected tonight. The aggression was there, and there were definitely more recs. I think I can do okay in these games, but for now I am going to return to 50 Zone until next week. I lost, but I had fun and didn't feel too outclassed or anything. But ya, it can be hard to play my normal game when moving up. Can't wait to see what my opponents did to me in the replayer!

My mixed game adventures are heating up. I FT and cashed both 8 game mix and PLO8 mtt yesterday. Very small buy ins but yet the fun and excitement I feel is like being a poker virgin all over again when I used to play partypoker sngs for free back in 2003. IFYKYK

It really does. I didn't realize how complacent I got with just going through the motions with NLHE but learning and playing all these new games has really invigorated my love for the game and strategy games in general.

My NCAAB picks for today (+6 units):

Purdue -5.5: 1 unit (live bet)
Tennesse -2.5: 2 units
Youngstown State +2.0: 1 unit
Clemson +3.0: 1 unit
NC Greensboro -2.0: 1 unit
Howard -3.5: 1 unit
Creighton +3.5: 2 units
Michigan -4.0: 3 units

So far I'm up 6 units on the season, with 25 bets made. Take with an appropriate grain of salt, because I don't base my bets off of very much besides kenpom, past record, and intuition. My units are also fairly small, so I don't take it too seriously. This is the first time I'm really tracking my results, so I'll have this be my sports betting diary. I also have a bit of a big ten bias, as a Purdue alum

Michigan in particular I think has a ton of value. I think people are really overreacting to them losing to seton hall, and not demolishing UNLV. Kenpom thinks they should be 6 point favorites, and it's not like Arizona is a powerhouse of a team, the only team they've really beat is a mediocre Wichita St team in overtime. So basically I don't see too much reason to deviate from the conventional wisdom. (Full disclosure I misread how much Kenpom thinks Michigan is favored, so I’d probably bet 1 or 2 units if I were to do so again)

Tennessee: Kenpom says Tenn is a 5 point fav, and I don't see any reason to deviate from conventional wisdom. I think UNC's fanbase may be so big they artificially move the lines.

Creighton: I also don't see why Creighton is a dog here. Kenpom has them favored, Creighton has a solid quad 2 win, and all Colorado State has done is beat nobodys (and they barely beat a shitty Bradley on Friday), so again, don't see reason to deviate from conventional wisdom.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone who cares about Thanksgiving!

I just experienced my first night in a long time without any disconnects or freezes on Ignition. I think it has cost me at least 1 BB/100 in EV this month plus whatever more I have lost due to the resulting tilt. I did some driver updates and tinkering with my network adapter that hopefully helped. Everything seems fast and smooth smooth for now.
