I am done working with GTO Wizard's trainer for awhile. I think I have been neglecting to make a lot of anti-human plays and playing some GTO crap instead. There are so many spots where the solver says a play sucks, but the play is quite excellent in practice. In my LHE career, I always got bad results when I tried to play too theoretical. When I focused on exploitative play, I always crushed. Maybe I am just meant to be an exploitative player which is fine. Instead of working with the GTO trainer, I am going to be rewatching all of Tariq Haji's RIO videos. His playing style makes a lot of sense to me, and he crushes the games I want to crush.
Another goal this month is to make a little bit of progress repairing my terrible red line. Mine sits at -13.26 BB/100 which has to be a major leak. So this month I want to do better than -10 BB/100 which still sucks, but should still yield better results. I have some ideas that should help without making my play too artificial.
Good luck this month, everyone! And best wishes dealing with these incoming winter storms. I expect to lose 2-3 days to power outages myself.
GTO is technically the best possible play for the given situation. If someone is getting OOL, the theory should indeed change. GTO Wizard isn't training you to be GTO. It's training you how a GTO robot plays against a GTOrobot. Aka, the baseline for being unexploitable in any situation long-run. Obviously you need to deviate if you want to make money since poker is a zero-sum game. Negative-sum factoring rake.
These sites are also making the games a lot harder. And robots are only getting faster at using them to make decisions. I swear there are GTO bots at ACR tables that have half a dozen bet sizes on different boards.
Good luck!
