This is the continuation of a trend that began as of early June and has steadily gained momentum as we approach the end of the year. The primary driving factor is an increase in the volume of players pursuing Supernova, thus negatively impacting the softness of the 6max cash game landscape due to "nits" grinding hands for VPP value. Also lending weight to the movement are, in no particular order: UIGEA reg announcement fallout, holiday season causing less money to be spent on poker endeavors, the amount of rain in the Amazon basin this month as compared to year-over-year expected amounts, the number of posts Fopah will have in the Brew today, and whether or not Tuna posts hot asians here within the next 3 hours.

I think you missed out the fact that pokerstars start handing out more bad beats to bad players towards the end of the month. They know at the start of each month, just after everyone has been paid, is the time people are most likely to re-deposit. They therefore need to empty the losing players accounts.

I haven't of course factored in the christmas matrix (see below), so I don't know how this will effect the rise and fall of bad beats for regs.
