over here beads around the neck are an integral part of mardi gras, and over the years kinda branched out where people put beads on when they get drunk if a variety of circumstances

edit: it used to work that you would ask someone to expose themselves to you and if they did, you gave them some beads and they wore them around as a badge of honor, and also currency to pay someone else to expose themselves. college kids would sometimes pack a whole suitcase full of beads so they had plenty of bead money to spend to get chicks to show their tits.

i think now people just get drunk and put on the beads without required nudity a lot more outside of mardi gras

also on st patricks day here people were green beads like crazy just for fun

I partied with degens in HS and not the chads and kellys. We had some big parties but near as big as the ones in the movies where the front yard is packed, the back yard is packed and every room downstairs is packed and yet only 2 couples are upstairs.
