This story usually gets a laugh, although it may lose something over the intarwebs. I used to work at a pharmacy, we had to wear a shirt with a collar. I hadn't done laundry in some time so I borrowed one of my dad's shirts. It was this plaid red and green flannel shirt and it looked wonderful. I went around work claiming that I looked like a lumberjack.

Employee: That's an awful shirt
Me: Yeah I know but I look like a lumberjack!
Employee: What's a lumberjack?
Me: You know.... a big burly man....cuts down trees, usually has a beard
Employee: Oh....why does he cut down trees?
Me: For wood.......

Anyway she wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. The shirt was extremely warm and good to wear when unloading a truck, so i wore it the next week. I see this employee approach me with a huge grin and exclaims:
YOU'RE WEARING YOUR LUMBERJOHN SHIRT!!!!!!!!!!!!

This strikes me as typical of the attitudes in the S-H forum. You describe a situation that fits the higher forum to a 'T', then call the lower stakes players, many of whom don't even post there, as the problem. The upper forum is nothing but static. And it is the 'elite' of that forum that creates the "waste and clutter". Yet it is the members of this forum that are useless?

One of the things about posting HH, is that I usually only posts hands that I think (or sure I did) donk up. Sure 2p2 may think I am a big donkey (which I am), but its the only way to get better.

I would love to post 3-4 level thinking hands, but at uNL playing that way is bad, since you only want to be 1 level above your opponnent (level 1 is the right place for most hands, a few level 2).

We don't get the deep history with regs that higher level players get which makes the situations so much more interesting.

I remeber reading a few posts by SABR and 2Eazy and then sitting down at NL50 and thinking, there is no way I can apply any of this advice...these guys are either nits or calling stations and that is all I need to know.

I am actually going to defend some of the names I have seen listed here who are being criticised.

When the forum was just one guys like BS, Ryan, Sab, MT2R, GM, and a good few others were always extremelty helpful to the microstakes guys and even when the forum split some of them still took time out to drop down and post.

I agree with them that 100nl and 200nl should have a forum of there own.

go re read the past 5 posts ive made in this thread. one of them explains why lower stakes players are easily grouped with those making useless and degenerative (as it pertains to progression) posts.


if you post a HH, there is almost no way for it to be useless. if you are having a real issue with a situation, as simple as it may be to a more experienced player (*usually*=higher stakes player), there is no way for it to be a useless post. that's what this forum is here for.

I am proud to be a member of 2p2 and I want to keep it this way. If you are here to become one of the best of the best I applaud you taking the time and effort to become that....or at least try.

I honestly dont mean to single anyone out but it's simply not my fault that this is going on and needs to be addressed. Go look at the past few pages (if not a lot more) of LearningCurve's posts. Yea, this is a chat thread but ffs, when does it end? When does the bull**** go too far? If i'm honest, I really honestly feel bad for the upcoming players starting at micro who have to deal with all the bull**** that ppl in their same spot years ago didn't have to deal with to nearly this degree. Those of you here to learn, make $, and contribute in a worthwhile way to this forum, gl.

Nearly all the threads are HH's or poker related, the only exception i think is the fantasy football thread.

The way you said it, it came across as you think every uNL poster is "completely useless" and is someone who doesnt seem to care in bettering there game is really condcending and complete BS.

There's a running "Post your picture" thread that gets bumped every few weeks in these forums.

I dunno man, a chat thread by definition is low to no content. I am glad we moved BBV to its own thread, but getting on a forum b/c the chat thread has useless (which is subjective) stuff in it, is being a little nitpicky. Maybe we move a running poker only chat thread, and then do a no poker content chat thread? But where will we posts Hellmuth's videos? Plus Mpehty gay cowboys? He loss them in a prop bet, that was poker related, but gay cowboys are gay cowboys.
