Yeah, the blinds are totally meaningless. Is there some rule in SD about maximum limits they spread? Like if there's nothing higher than 25-50 allowed by law or by rule, this would be a way to get around it.

That's the equivalent of like, what, 750/1500? 600/1200? A "sandard" size stack in the game would be around $150000.
Meh...they weren't quite that deep. It did look like everyone was in the neighborhood of $25k-$50K though. The owner of the place was playing at that table as well. From what I've heard he REALLY makes the games juicy. And why not when you are making more per week on rake than you could possibly lose in any game. Nothing like playing with house money.

Prostitutes some time come in and offer the players back massages during the games.
Saying a prostitute is "sometimes" around there is like saying Stu Ungar "sometimes" did drugs. Usually they just walk by outside though. The only place I still haven't been to in the San Diego area is the Village Club. I've heard that place actually has more action than Palomar. Personally....I'm kind of scared to go to a hole in the wall card room in Chula Vista. Muggings introduce more variance than I'm willing to handle.

Easy, the market. Being in NY, it isn't about hockey, its about star power. You get more value out of having stars that other stars can relate to and be seen going to see.

I just don't see him going by "Tony" is all. It's a nickification of a re-aglicization of the mexication of the original anglicization of an initialization of his given name.

LOL...+1. where the hell is your pooh bah post? I must have missed it, along with Kurt's (though, his poker story could certainly count as his pooh bah post imo).

Yeah, FFS, I know they need a plot twist before every commercial so they can play the "DAH-DNAH-DAH-DA-DNUH" music but it starts getting silly at some point. The last six episodes are just a blur of who does or does not have the MacGuffin. Only memorable scene was with the Bible Salesman.

Or was it? DAH-DNAH-DAH-DA-DNUH

Its listed as a well in the sticky, so that means I never did a PooBah post.

It's lower variance if you just keep pistol whipping the vic till he or she coughs up the dough.

I got mugged/robbed once and I had to calm down and reassure the mugger while he was stealing my money.

And concussions make identifying the perp later so much harder.
02-26-2009 , 03:36 PM
So you're saying aggressive play reduces variance?

Counter intuitive, but you might be right.
02-26-2009 , 03:39 PM
Aggression helps teh red line. that is all that I know about teh pokah .
02-26-2009 , 03:40 PM

Exactly!

On a more serious note....had my first concussion like two and a half weeks ago while playing basketball. Still don't remember what happened or who did it. Very weird. I never even had a headache after...well....or I just didn't realize I did due to the vicodin, valium, percocet, morphine, and muscle relaxers I was on for the back spasms. It was a week before I could get out of bed without help and another week before I could give up the cane. I'm finally getting around relatively pain free now though. Woohoo!
