Felt good reading this, +1000000.
I only recently got aware of how nitty i was about BR management and taking shots. I used to react very emotionally to shot taking and losing a couple of BIs was like the worst thing, this completely stagnated my evolution as a poker player. Now i see it differently and taking shots is not only about climbing a level and not falling down again. It's a process that is usually made of climbing and dropping again for various times, you'll end up learning more in 2000 hands about your leaks in the shot level then playing 20'000 hands in your home level. You speed up your learning curve by being exposed to a new environment, avoiding the learning stagnation that comes out of playing zillions of hands in the same level. Another factor to consider is how much money do you want to win. There is just no point in grinding 25-50 buyins of a level, putting up a huge number of hours, if you aint taking a wanted profit out of it. During the process of moving up, approach it aggressively, you want to speed up the process.
