The board is draw heavy, but I couldn't see many draws in his range. Either AK which was unlikely, or he had air. So why not check the turn and let him take a shot on the river, right?

Not really, but I don't think he will have much to call with very often.
I feel like he could be turning his JJ or QQ into a bluff, but I doubt he would call a shove.
Only hand that is in his range and he is going to call with is AK, imo. Sometimes a lower set but I doubt 99, 66, 33 are in his 3betting range.

Actually the more I think about it I dont like that turn check, cuz if he's drawing then you're giving him free cards.

So, you open from BU, obv with a very wide range, so my 3bet is obv for value.
On the A96 flop I'm pretty sure I have the best hand, except against sets, ldo. I decide to bet because of the 2 clubs and some crazy srtaight draws. c/r would also be an option. When you call, I put you on KK/QQ, some Ax, pair + draw combos (maybe AA/99/66).
I check turn planning to c/rai, or if you check behind get value from KK/QQ on the river.
River is bad as the flush gets there, c/c might have been better, idk. When you raise, I'm pretty sure I'm beat, still can't fold it...
