4. yes it does. you kinda belong there with pretty much all ur posts... and should make a well in BBV. they would love it
Yeah, I haven't seen higher stakes, but I don't see how knowing how 50NL plays makes me an incompetent coach for the same stakes?

You realize this is the "brew" aka low content random posts?

So what if I made a big a$$ case of moving to SSNL? (Not saying that I did because I'm not convinced that I did)

Most of my posts are in strategy and I'm pretty sure they don't belong in BBV. You on the other hand are the opposite posting random crap in BBV and strategy content there.

Re: *** Official Fe"brew"ary Microbrew Thread ***

In an attempt to hijack this thread from its natural trolling state, I pose to you all a question.

Have any of you taken a Myers-Briggs personality test? I am INTP and I think that people with the same personality type would also gravitate toward poker. In fact, I suspect that a disproportionate of winning players would be exactly this type. I'm curious of other Brewians personality types.

For the tl;dr crowd of the link, I'll highlight a few characteristics of INTP that I think make it poker prone:

Quote:
They live primarily inside their own minds, having the ability to analyze difficult problems, identify patterns, and come up with logical explanations.

They are intensely interested in theory, and will put forth tremendous amounts of time and energy into finding a solution to a problem with has piqued their interest.

They are not likely to place much value on traditional goals such as popularity and security.
And the negative side of this type of personality, which I think we see often exasperated on the forums:

Quote:

The INTP may have a problem with self-aggrandizement and social rebellion, which will interfere with their creative potential. Since their Feeling side is their least developed trait, the INTP may have difficulty giving the warmth and support that is sometimes necessary in intimate relationships. If the INTP doesn't realize the value of attending to other people's feelings, he or she may become overly critical and sarcastic with others. If the INTP is not able to find a place for themself which supports the use of their strongest abilities, they may become generally negative and cynical.
I find this stuff very interesting and am curious of other peoples thoughts on the subject.

okay maybe your not an incompetant coach for ... 10nl and lower, but why would you charge these people so much for coaching? 30$ is uhh 3bi at 10nl and 15 BI for people at 2nl? this doesn't make sense....

especially since they really do not need to pay a dime to figure out how to beat micro NL poker....
I happily help people at 25nl and below for free, because honestly there is not much that they need to really know to beat those stakes....
so for 30$/hr I can tell them to b/f a whole lot... lol not hard

and making a big deal of moving to SSNL (which in all honesty I do not know your interpretation of SSNL... 50nl+? is that ssnl to you?)
you tried to make a well post.... that is kinda making a big deal out of it IMO... I do not blame you I was excited when I moved to 50nl... just as I was excited when I moved to 100nl (i really do not know what you interpret as SSNL) but you made a well post? comeone... im pretty sure you have to begged by a lot of people before your well post would be accepted...

So go help them for free.
If I'm taking time out of my schedule to sweat a person, I'd like to get paid for it. It's a service. If you think it's not worth your money, then don't take it. What's your problem?

Considering $30 is less than a BI at his stakes (50NL) I don't see how that's not fair. My hourly is higher. I just happen to like to verbalize my thought process, which would help my game also, and I can accomplish that in a sweat session.

I consider SSNL by how 2+2 is set up aka 100NL+

IT IS A BIG DEAL. I anticipated I wouldn't visit uNL much, and I wanted to give something back. The things I learned while I was struggling for a very long time breaking even, not knowing what I was doing wrong was incredibly frustrating. I didn't want people to spend the same amount of time as I did, so I wanted to highlight the important parts that would help people improve faster. I don't see how trying to help people improve faster is seen as "LOL I'M SO GOOD LOOK @ ME" People have made a ton of similar posts whether it be Pooh-bah or just a general thread about "common mistakes" or what have you, but that's not getting the same shit this is. I'm actually quite confused and offended. (especially with big berating me saying how terrible I am)

I'm not saying I'm the best uNL player. There are a ton of people that sustain a higher winrate than I do. However, I do know I crush the games.

FWIW I already explained (for the 10481204th time) I didn't realize "The Well" was a big deal, and I pm'd a mod before posting it and he said it would be fine.

This is the last time I do this. I have absolutely no reason to explain or justify my posts or actions to any of you. I'm going to bed. Night brew.

There's a facebook Myers-Briggs test here if the link works and you have a facebook profile, else just search for it in the applications tab. All my friends who have done it seem to think it is very accurate.

Perhaps this one works, I haven't used it.

Obviously these tests are decently long so they can pinpoint it.

I'm all grown up and graduated and I never took a psych course, I just tend to get deeply interested in subjects for a little while, learn as much as I can, then tire of them, then move on.

It's part of my personality!

I highly recommend finishing the test, when I first saw my results, I was pretty shocked that things that I thought were character flaws that I should be able to control were just ingrained in my personality

Re: *** Official Fe"brew"ary Microbrew Thread ***

Also I just took the test of the second linky and got the same results as I previously had. I think the results page kind of sucks, so I'm going to try to find a better one.

Although it did tell me that INTP only consists of maybe 1% of the population, so I guess I am special like a short bus.
