anyone know of a hard drive eraser that you dont need to boot from disc, you can just run it from a computer's desktop?

i have ubuntu on my grind pc and i need it gone but it is incapable of booting from discs

more info? are you dual booting windows or something? could you just use partition magic to partition the linux distro then format it (totally random ideas) I've installed linux like once ages ago.

the computer is blank except for ubuntu. i want to load winXP 64 bit onto it but i can't boot from discs and it's a realllly complicated process to make it so i can boot from a disc. I'm hoping that just wiping it will be easier but all the wipe programs i know of boot from discs... LoLinucks

why can't you boot from a disc? I don't get it, why is it complicated (I don't know your setup obv) change in bios throw the dvd in the drive boom use windows setup to partition/format away you go?

lol i wish. i changed it to boot from cdrom then disabled all the other options. It wouldn't boot.

preventative. RRoD is caused by overheating. Xbox's suck at cooling themselves. Did you have it resting on carpet while it was on?

original disc? otherwise are you positive its setup as a boot disc? seems weird does the drive pickup the disc when you boot into linux?
