nah just trying stuff. not claiming its perfect.

attacking the fish lighter and lighter is becoming a mantra for me and i think i might push the equity boundaries sometimes when factoring in people left to act while dropping my range to just a few % points better than the fishs range....if that makes any sense

Against a 64/25 who has shown a propensity to bluff in random spots. He said "ty" after and I kinda lost it, though the hand itself was probably enough to make me quit for the day.

i live here because i fell in love. there is a lot of good things to it, a lot of bad, but you just have to make the most of what's thrown at you. I am happy, so that's probably the most important thing.

is it easy for u to get another workable motherboard? would suck to have to order it online and wait a week.
so, i did all that, and had the same result, so i guess it is a problem with the motherboard. annoying!

i havent been reading about your problems DCI... but ive skimmed and just seen "problems booting"... have you tried replacing the battery on the motherboard? (the little silver circle thats like the size of a nickel)

say we are 40/60 vs the shortstack, co always folds, utg calls with QQ+/AK, (1/4th his open range), which we are 25/75 vs. combined with the shorties range we are ~20%. your equity is lower than this because sometimes u will beat UTG but lose to the shortie.

.75*(((.4*7.25)-(.6*3.75))) + .25*((.20*30.75)-(.80*24.50)) = -$2.87 EV

CO also might wake up with a monster like AK or QQ sometimes too, seeing how he is 20/6.

problem is u only get 65 cents equity out of the dead money when UTG folds. even when UTG only calls 5% of the time its still gonna overwhelm the 65 cents. rake will make this worse too.

its -EV with a hand like 55 too

(.75 * ((.52 * 7.25) - (.48 * 3.75))) + (.25 * ((.27 * 30.75) - (.73 * 24.50))) = -$0.92

with TT

(.75 * ((.65 * 7.25) - (.35 * 3.75))) + (.25 * ((.30 * 30.75) - (.7 * 24.50))) = $0.57

which would still be -EV after rake + CO waking up with QQ + shortie winning sidepot even when u beat UTG

just not enough dead money and we are running into UTG monsters too often

nope. i guess that would probably be a good idea before i order a new motherboard. they're probably just a few bucks aren't they?

pretty sure they are essentially just big watch batteries so i cant imagine they are expensive... ive never had to replace one though so im not sure
08-29-2010 , 06:20 PM
i've taken them out and put them back in to reset bios before, but i've never heard of one just crapping out. i guess there's no reason they couldn't though.

Who's still writing off the Spraggalaga?

08-29-2010 , 06:34 PM
doubt its the battery but... u can go get one for a few bucks at radioshack or wherever. they are the same as watch batteries. just find it on the motherboard and write down what type it is, or take it with u.

usually if the battery is dying your clock starts lagging, configurations get lost, and the computer will start beeping and acting weird at boot.

if u are down to it being the motherboard, look for shorts.

Quote:
A direct short is usually shown as a burned spot around the part that shorted and will most likely smell really bad. Remove the board and examine it from both sides for the burned spot...if you still can't find it sniff the board and it will give you a general location as to what may have been shorted....as sometimes a chip may short under itself and will not show...but the smell all ways gives it up. Look for an expanded top on the can filters also...they should be flat on the top and not rounded.
not that u would really fix it or whatever, but u will know its the cause for sure.
