Start playing chess. It's good fun and you obv like poker so i think you would like this. Its a strategically demanding game. Olly or myself will play you any time im sure.

Hit the gym man. Do it properly though, don't just half-ass it. I personally guarantee it will change you. Seriously, it will improve your mood, make you sleep better, great way to get rid of tilt and aggression, it will make you more confident etc etc etc.

can confirm this to be true, working office job plus drink problems leads to beer belly, joined the gym at easter, best thing ever for poker tilt/real life tilt, and everything else noted, plus jacuzzi and sauna time to totally chill the **** out

Hey I want to start a discussion on data-ming, PTR hand histories and poker-edge etc. Don't know if even discussion is allowed but let's see.

First of all I have never data mined anything nor used programs besides HM.

Is data-mining considered ethical? Is it allowed by poker rooms like mine (party poker).
How about buying hand histories or using software like poker -edge?

It just seem to me that using poker edge or having several thousands of hands on somebody when the other player has none on you is an unfair advantage.
It can't be fair can it?

And you can't even change your screen name on most poker sites.

Even PTR seems unfair. You can instantly see how the other player plays and so forth. I play a hand and it shows up there at once.

Im playing squash 3x a week+ soccer (sometimes, not on regular basis).

I cant say I enjoy gym tbh (I was going for a year, but the road pisses me off (90 minutes for a closest gym that I know off).

chess is decent idea. I actually started studying a little bit..but man, that **** is complex

@Krax

i never played poker to live on so i didn't have that pressure. at the end of last summer i had built up a nice 50 buy-in 50NL roll and thought i was ready to make 50NL my part time job. bad downswing and 6 losing months in a row and i was depressed too. i spent all my free time trying to get hands in and would invariably end up frustrated, depressed, grumpy, etc. around my family/friends/gf. it is true that while losing is such a downer on you, winning is nothing more than a relief that you are climbing back out of the last downswing. i withdrew my roll and took an extended 6 month break. i'm rebuilding a roll too but now it really is just a hobby. i could never play poker for a living. i couldn't even handle 50NL as a hobby.
