atm I stopped believing the idea that poker is beatable game. Supposed to be the best holidays of my life and I have depression

Will prob withdraw my whole roll (leave like 100$ or smth) and travel to amsterdam to do something fun for a change. IDK, considering it.
gl with your downswing yo. i think the game is beatable. imo. i cant beat it against 90% of the pop however i think it is possible

Obv I moved down to nl50/nl25 (fwiw there is sick difference in those limits). But I need to deal with other **** in my life right now (selfhate, depression, need to find a hobby outside of poker/drinking/sports). Basically something fun that I can do alone, cuz my friends live far away/are busy all the time. Also, that said hobby shouldnt be total waste of time (video games) and preferably can be done at home (again, city is hour away from this ****hole and I dont have a car).

ideas?

lol excellent triple-barreler there.

poker is great, maybe don't play wizard hu anymore.
08-03-2010 , 07:26 AM
fwiw I think once he bet flop (which was mistake), he has to follow through on these cards, ie turn and river barrels are totally fine.

I'd make it a smaller on the turn, so river jam is bigger tho

i might fold river against an unknown. Just not sure if he's bluffing there ~30% of the time
08-03-2010 , 07:36 AM
villain played that well imo altho he could have got more value by c/called river i think

from dint's perspective without reads it's a fold on river i think unless he's capable of value betting AJ or triple barrel bluff a large % of the time, but that would require reads.
key point is that most villains aren't cbetting this flop with air, and may or may not play draws like this

Thanks for posting stats dint, very loose, I guess that's why your fold to 3b is like 82%? What's your steal? it's got to be like 60% or something right? Even at 2NL I get exploited if I go any higher than 42%.

Im not folding TP bvb without a very good reason.

Draws whiffed and we need to be right less than 30% (its 30% to call pot sized bet, we are calling 28 to win 44 pot). Also, he can be, reasonably, trying to get us off Jx. So, basically its a cooler, once SB bets flop (which he just shouldnt do, that cbet is ******ed imo).

thats awesome video
08-03-2010 , 08:10 AM
ye thought about it and with history/reads it would be fairly std since we have draws or Jx there a lot. It's 33% to a psb, here it's 28 to win 72 so it's around 28%. It's close against unknown imo (to be fair dint never said he was an unknown, just assumed so)

thing is, how much air is in his flop betting range? shouldn't be much if villain is a taggish player, but how much of his range on the flop is he going to want to turn into a bluff on river?

edit misread HH and thought btn came along in the hand, i guess calldown is fine.
08-03-2010 , 08:17 AM
that's why i said 'with reads/history'. but yeah that's a good point.

Everytime I hear that "Say Hello to the November Nine" it gives me goosebumps.

3betting tens and jacks in position is just such an impossible game. Even in coaching videos they just get owned. I've been trying for months and can't find a way to win a pot if they call or raise.

Villain is like 52/40 with 13% 3b over 62 hands

Absolute, $0.01/$0.02 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

SB: $4.03
BB: $5.24
UTG: $4.93
Hero (CO): $2.16
BTN: $4.17

Pre-Flop: T T dealt to Hero (CO)
UTG raises to $0.07, Hero raises to $0.24, 3 folds, UTG calls $0.17

Flop: ($0.51) 7 J 3 (2 Players)
UTG checks, Hero bets $0.28, UTG calls $0.28

Turn: ($1.07) Q (2 Players)
UTG checks, Hero checks

River: ($1.07) Q (2 Players)
UTG bets $1.07, Hero folds

Results: $1.07 Pot ($0.05 Rake)
UTG showed and WON $1.02 (+$0.50 NET)

It looks like I get owned at 2NL too, I might as well take my $220 back to 10NL... I'm in full nit lockdown mode from now on

y do u 3bet 10's from someone opening utg, why not flat and play post flop? they probably will fold to lots of 3bets and only call with dominated hands, which make its spew imo

why is ppl these days scared to play post flop poker? ive noticed this alot recently, ppl 3bet pre, and HAVENT a ****ing clue how to play post flop, i actually could hear some of them going to themselves, **** THERES A FLOP IN THIS GAME, jesus ****ing christ i dont understand there thought process, they do know theres fish in this game, so instead of having a hard on when they 3bet, call, and own and make money post flop imo, post flop is where they make massive mistakes which just makes our br roll go up up up up up

this isnt aimed at ur nomeannos, its just something that i have noticed a **** ton atm, and its ****ing lol beyond ******ism,

they 3bet cum and win 3bbs, but why not call and play post flop take a cbet and play turns and make moneys

Krax, learn some valuable skill online that u may or may not need later on for maybe projects or smth, like java,c++, html, css etc.

Well, I was ready to get it in here, this person was insane, but ya I normally call here, but my roll is like 110 buyins deep at 2NL and I was trying something out, but it seems even against this other guy "MIKEPERU" who plays 53/43 with a 48% 3bet whenever I get it in with jacks or tens against him I am owned, although am probably profitting overall from the times he folds to my 4bets.
