I felt the same way, but it becomes pretty obvious at the differences between 5NL and 10NL when you examine his play at 10NL. Basically, it's easy for us to say that all the limits (2NL, 5NL, 10NL, 25NL ... etc etc) play the same, but they do not.

For example ... it's critical to start 3-betting light at 10NL & 25NL but unnecessary to do so at 5NL (at least on Stars). So basically ... you need an advanced and more refined set of skills to thrive at each additional level. When a 400NL player says "25NL and 50NL play exactly the same" they say it from THEIR perspective which isn't very helpful for a 25NL player.

The nice thing about this series will be (hopefully) catching all the requisite things necessary to experience success at the different levels and play "good solid poker" in general.

Spoiler:
There is more to "good solid poker" than just "value bet your strong hands" and "don't bluff", or adamwil would not be at 5NL.

No one believed me when I said 5NL and 10NL were totally different...

I don't think it's critical to 3bet light at 25nl fwiw

not because i am a winning player but because i have seen winning regs with a 3% 3bet over a large sample on ptr

but I do agree with what you're saying that every limit plays different and needs adjustments and I also agree that a good adjustment when moving from 5nl->10nl is 3betting light (however, not critcal)

Really? I don't think it's critical to 3 bet light at NL50. And seeing Doyle playing (and winning) at HSP not critical at 500000NL either.

dint play me heads up instead at 50nl, it will be fun

i don't really agree but whatever, maybe not. but it is critical to getting to 50nl and above and if you don't do it there where are you going to get cheap experience in 3b pots?
