in general it is useless, against a reg who thinks it is not.

Also i would not classify this as a balancing spot, i would classify this as a betsizing tell.

I don't see what's so confusing about it. MP can have a smallish overpair, a draw, or oven like 98ss and ofc 7x, 88 77). CO unlikely has a draw (little FE) and prob not 88 77 either so either 7x or a decent overpair that he chose not to 3 bet pre (tight UTG? not very 3 bet happy? trappy?) JJ QQ.

With all the money in the pot you can't really fold can you? You are good a decent amount of time but not the majority of the time probably. Still nobody folds there and you obviously didn't either, or did you?

Fold?
08-09-2010 , 05:43 PM
im never folding there. As long as he knows he is ahead of the fishes wide range its probably a profitable shove by the CO. If the flatter wasnt a fish id lean much more towards folding.

i'd tack on a couple dollars more but it doesn't do much except level ourselves imo

i gave myself room to 3 bet over the fishes shove if he chose to do that which i thought he would probably do pretty wide (it was like .05 under half his stack or something like that)
08-09-2010 , 05:53 PM
i'd make it a lot bigger, and i think it does a lot. its not like you're ever bluffing there, and you look super strong nomatter what size you make it. i'd rather not give good odds for a reg to peel with some draw there.

of my 40 bi downswing i well publicized itt about 20 of it came in the first couple thousand hands or so. i don't know how to describe it when the **** hits the fan like that other than its just a real numb feeling. it's a weird form of tilt.

Yeah its today's session and it's HU ( mixed NL and PLO ) and mixed buyins, i actually finished at a loss in terms of real $$$, but the **** hit the fan very fast indeed an i just sort of went ape**** and started making really dumb mistakes which combined with running badly in several big pots sorta killed my buzz on the day. Taking the rest of the night off and back to the grind tomorrow...,

well, i'm making good time on the prop bet. at 138k hands for the month so far. my graph is not so sexy lately though. i run under ev the last couple of days and get teh coolers a lot. i also found that its very hard not to tilt when playing a zillion tables at once, because eventually you get mega raped from every direction all at once and puts your brain in frenzy ape mode.
