Stack, didn't you used to have an avon barksdale avatar? Mayb him in his prison suit or sumthing like that?
08-23-2010 , 08:14 PM
its like 13 smth

scoob, i'm trying to get good at playing tons of tables. i could already play higher, but i would have lost a lot of money in the beginning. it is pretty hard. i'll try 10 next month.
08-23-2010 , 08:15 PM
yea used to. instead I got an avatar that best resembles my own mental image of a 3betting monkey.

Not sure how effective that is though, I can 6table 25NL and crush it for 7BB/100, move to 50NL and pretty much bleed if I play more than 2 tables, lol

What are your normal stakes?

How many hands of 50NL have you played? For that matter how many hands is that 25NL sample?

They play pretty much the same imo, just the standard lines change a bit.

well you never know until you experiment. i play mostly nl50, but i spent most of this year playing live minbet, which i like a lot. i live kind of far away though and got tired of driving, so i'll be donking around online til feb when i move to kc to be closer to the boats.

Small samples. I escaped 25NL in 40k hands. Ive played like 55k-60k 25NL total but some were 50bb tables on Stars on an old database. On my current database its over a 40k hand sample.

50NL was like, losing 5BB/100 over 10k hands(crazy run bad, but also steam/tilt), then won 9.5BB/100 over the last 10k hands since coaching.

Tiny samples, but I notice a huge drop in my redline if I multi table 50NL, if I keep to 2 tables I can stay break even at redline, as soon as I add tables my redline is like a 45 degree drop, lol

EDIT - as for play the same, I cant agree, I find 50NL to be wayyyy tougher, tons of people tell me Im wrong, and thats their opinion, Ive always felt like I can beat 25NL with my eyes closed but I have found 50NL to be a bit of a grind. Maybe its new stakes syndrome, Ive struggled every time Ive moved up so far in my very short poker career. Maybe I will feel tons more comfortable at 50NL when I played a few more hands.

Who is coaching you? If you don't mind me asking.

50NL

Notice small break even stretches in redline, those are all 2 tabling spells, quickly evaporated when I play 4 or more.

doesn't look like much red line troubles. looks more like variance.

I mean first half of ur graph you win nothing at showdown and the next half you make almost 22 buy-ins at showdown.

In the first 10k hands at 50NL, I got dealt AA and KK around 110 times, I made $107 profit. When you consider half your winrate comes from AA alone, thats pretty weak. My AA got cracked 3 times in 3bet pots by small pairs that flatted a 3bet OOP. That led to a bit of steam and I gave up and went back to 25NL, lol

the biggest difference between 25nl and 50nl is slightly less fish and slightly less bad calls from regs.

it's still quite beatable as long as you are good at identifying how thinly specific regs are willing to bet

Yea I think regs value bet better, dont stack off as easy, and there are far more regs than fish, unlike 25NL where even the regs are fish, lol

i thought you meant over your last 70k hands, not your last 70k hands at 25nl. Your ptr shows a steady decline which is why i said that.
