no i dont care about the red line actally. however it just boggles my mind that i play the almost exactly the same way however my results keep going up and down, i mean if i had a constant 30 degree below standard posistion red line however it was steady i would be completely fine with it as long as i was winning, because that would make sense.

however i play the same and some days i do fine and others i do horrible. is it all just variance. i would like some consistency or is that to much to ask for from poker ?

or is my sample size just 2 small?

lol, poker is the last game youre gonna find consistency in. its all variance baby.
08-09-2010 , 05:37 AM
hehe so i should consistently see a variance swing every 10k hands or so where i play the same and get mixed results?

i guess that makes sense. i just have to put in more volume to see i guess

People have had breakeven stretches over 30k hands, people who are crushing the game. You're 10k first hands may differ completely than your 10k next hands, or they may be a similar.

There is meaning to a winning redline; you can impress and be gawked at by the bbv crowd, but it seems no longer the ubbv crowd, redlines are out in this neck of the woods.

ubbv smarter than bbv

Amen.

im curious is my style just purely bases on if i hit a hand on the flop or not

and has a direct correlation so my win rate?

therefore if i dont hit hands i cant win pots, and if i hit hands i can win pots, and my style is bases around c betting and stabbing. therefore, if i no has hand i no can stabs, if no can stabs i no can win....

or i no has hand and i still stab and lose more. im just wondering is there a way to mitigate my loses rather than rely on purely luck

NO! IT IS EVERYTHING.

What is your vp$ip / pfr / flop cbet % / turn cbet % / 3b % deadbird?

The last 8K hand go I had at 10NL I was something like 20/17 with a flop cbet of 67%, turn cbet 51% and a 3bet of 4.5%, I really felt like I was double-barreling air too often, I also ran pretty bad over those 8K hands, they were always calling my airball double-barrels and folding to my nuts.

Then there was blackjack. I just wanted to double up and be rolled for 10NL at least....$440 would've been nice. Never again blackjack.

Your "style" should be based exploiting peoples tendencies and handreading them well. When you handread them well, you will know their relative hand strength to yours and if u want them to call or fold.

However, knowing this doesnt just automatically make you a winner cause variance has a part of it all. Depending on how the board runs out for both your value hands and bluff hands, your red line may increase or decrease due to variance. Sometimes the best turn card for bluffing comes up and sometimes a total blank comes and u have to shutdown.

The real reason that Spraggy is sad is because he wasn't that one that started the trolling & arguing imo
