Most of the Metallica I like are 90s, rest 00s+
not all familiar with pixies
and GNR came out in like 89, right? that's not really 80s.
Never liked michael jackson.
And 90s hate ph? Seriously? How can you hate stuff like:
Pearl Jam
Stone Temple Pilots
Sublime
Live
Weezer blue album
early Green Day
the list goes on and on
Sorry your ears have such ****ty taste.
Oh, meglooo, I LOVE 70s music.
This is pretty much exactly the music my wife loves. She is a huge PJ fan and product of the 90's. I like 90's stuff (read: grunge/alternative) but not as much as her. Ten is a great album, one of the best rock albums of the 90's, if not THE best, imo.
However, 90's Metallica is so <<<<< then 80's Metallica. I don't even really think its a matter of skill either I think its a matter of Cliff dying. Not their fault, they rebounded fairly well all things considered (as he was their best songwriter)

All 80's.
All awesome.
Agree with pretty much all of this. 80's had a lot of terrible pop and hair metal and stuff but so does every genre. You can't tell me the late 90's wasn't a huge embarrassment.

Live's Throwing Copper album is awesome.
I can't stand their other stuff.
But TC is one of the great albums.
RATM is so great. Tom Morello is the most innovative guitarist since Hendrix.
RATM self-titled is a great album. listening to it just makes me want to punch someone in the face

My overall thought is that the amount of good music out there doesn't change as much as you think it does. Its what is popular in the radio, and what is accessible for everyone and thus perceived to be the definitive music of the time. That music can get ****ty really easy. Like right now. In the 70's they played good stuff on the radio. In the 80's they played **** on the radio. Improvement in the 90's, and then back to **** in the 00's.
Therefore, hope for 2010's ? Maybe...
