Never happen. Someone would have to marry Courtney Love first.

FYP, but as an aside:

I'm not sure which I loathe more: Brittfar's never-ending retirement deliberations or LeBron's complete and utter whoring of Cleveland.

Line on the season opener has Minnesota +7 on the road at N.O. -- I wonder how far it drops if/when Farve plays. +7 if Favre plays is pretty sweet imho.

Farve. I pretty much hate "the decision", but Cleveland screwed up getting players to go with Lebron for 7 years. The only addition they ever got that actually made sense was Atwan Jamison, and he was to old. Look at what OKC did with Durant. Frankly, watching Cleveland sit there for years going, OK, well coach defence, and for offense we'll just give it to James has to be one of the most frustrating and infuriating sporting injustices of the last 5 years.

So interesting hand from a local underground club from this weekend. Was going to start a thread but I start dumb threads so just post it in here instead.

First some background. Victoria is basically a 1 club city. There's only enough business for one or two tables 4-6 nights a week. This creates a weird dynamic in trying to run a game within the rules, but without pissing off some of the fishie donators. All it takes is losing a couple fish and your game is dried up, opening up the possibility of a new club getting the business.

In this story, you are one of the owners and are dealing the game. The following hand develops. UTG (major fish donator) is in the game for $5500 (all credit). He is down to $250 and pushes in blind. UTG+2 (loose/aggro guy also stuck $5k and a reg) looks and raises to $500. Folded around to my friend who is trying to decide whether to call or shove. The lady behind her shows her cards to the next player and folds out of turn. My friend says, 'Hold on, I should be able to see those cards.' After a bit of debate the lady flips over her discarded cards for the table to see. Now UTG gets upset. he pulls back his $250 and says, 'They have info that I didn't have. I'm taking my money back'. UTG+2 says, 'Wait a sec. If you pull it out I obviously dont want to raise to $500'. (It's a 1/2 game). My friend say, 'Whoa, that action has to stand. This is unfair.' UTG (the donator) says ,'I don't care, go ahead and bar me. I'm in to you for 5k and I'm not putting that money in.'

Then they look at you......

fwiw. wasp > cat.

Last night my two cats were fckn with something under the kitchen table, I didn't pay attention cuz they're both young and always into stuff. 30 min later I went into kitchen to get something and one of them came flying out from under the table growling and squealing. He stopped and started licking and picking at his paw while making noises. I looked and he had a nice red welt on his pad and under the table was this big-ass red wasp. Easily the size of my pinky. I squashed it, hate them things.

that sucks rusty but since the lady showed her hand it should be showed to the table, i've never heard of any game letting someone take a bet back, if he is this upset he prob isn't coming back anyway but fish are fish and play the game to gamble it up and hope to win, he sounds like more of a degenerate gambler then anything so i'm sure he will be back

Don't give credit to fish imo.

Who is Chris Olaafson?

I found this hilarious..

highlights:

"Successful online gamers and poker players share a lot in common.. Both of them have the ability to problem solve, process so much information its incredible, focus for long periods of time sometimes days on end and both have the ability to live with their parents well in to their 30's"

Rusty, you gotta play by the rules on this one. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if i let the fish take his bet back.

What are your means for gathering his $5500 of credit, is he on the books, under the table, or what?

That said, the initial ruling is correct if she showed the hand to a player yet to act. If it was a player who folded, then the proper procedure is to segregate the hand and show it after the hand is over. As for the rest, if the owner has the bankroll and the muscle, he should tell them that the money in the center isn't there's anymore and stop touching it.

Of course, if he doesn't have the ability to enforce re-payment, he'll have to look at this as a huge spew and vow not to do it again.

It's on the books. He was a big dude too, so if he walks it's probably a writeoff.

For those of you saying never extend credit, in underground rooms with small player bases it's a necessary cost of business. You're making $100/hr+ in rake alone, sometimes you have to take a bit of risk to keep the game going.

Proof that many of the villains we face at the tables, may indeed be monkeys:
