Songs, you know, where people
sing. My high-school choir teacher (late 80's) claimed it wasnt actually music unless someone was singing (not talking).
I love rap too, and have a bit in my music library, but my collection is far more diverse (though it was less diverse when I was your age). I was listening to rap before most of you guys were in 1st grade. Fat Boys, Run DMC, Whodini, LL Cool J, etc. I listened to rap in jr hi, metal in high school, then grunge, alternative, etc. My tastes have changed over time but I can still appreciate all the genres for what they are, even those genres that I dont care for.
I like almost any music, if it is done well. Country is the only thing I cant really tolerate for very long and never add to my collection, but that may be in part because of working with guys that listened to country all day on the job. I have 4 or 5 albums in winamp that I downloaded for other people but I skip them when they come on the playlist.
