only beat about hammond is the hotel situation....the casino is gorgeous, nice big poker room w/ lots of games spreading... plus they have a great blackjack w/ a 3card bonus game. not to mention their tournament circuits have the best structure of any small stakes tourneys i have ever seen. not sure whats not to love!?

Hey guys. A little back history here...

I started taking poker seriously at the end of April this year. I signed up for a training site and after watching a couple of basic series, I got started playing 2NL with only $15 in my account. I had to sit at 2NL with only $0.80 so that I could manage my BR better. I ground my way up through 2NL, 5NL, 10NL and was taking shots at 25NL within 1 month, having took my BR to $500. That didnt go so well and within 5 days of beats/coolers/spew I was back down to $250 and back to 5NL. I took a couple of days off, then got back going at 5NL and 10NL. I rebuilt to $400 then figured I would play MTTs on the Sunday. I binked 36th/3500 for $35 and later that night 7th/7500 for $400.

I then moved across to FTP and got my RB set up. Played a little making a small profit at 25NL before taking 3 weeks off to enjoy the World Cup. I returned from that break early July. I had a great month, over 40k hands I beat 25NL for around 6-7BB/100 and made over $1400 including RB and bonuses.

Then it came time to move up to 50NL. That has not gone well for me. I am down $400 in under 10k hands. In this time I have dropped back to 25NL and won at an even higher rate than I won before. Yet every time I step back up to 50NL my AA gets busted in a 3bet pot, Ive had set over set, AKs v KK bvb 3 times in 1 session. AK v AA vs fish. A lot of it comes down to variance, but I am not the guy who will just put it down to bad luck and move on. I believe these beats must be causing me not to play great. I just have to be doing something wrong, I cant continue to lose EVERY time I sit at a 50NL table without asking myself why.

I am break even for this week, despite my being down $400 from 50NL, my 25NL, RB + bonuses mean I have broken even, and my BR is still at the point where I should still be taking on 50NL, except now I am almost scared to sit at those tables. I feel like I am just lighting money on fire. Its a strange feeling having crushed every limit until this point to now feel like Im not good enough to beat this game. Everyone I speak to tells me the difference between 25NL and 50NL is minute and I really shouldnt be having any problems beating these games.

I start to feel sorry for myself as soon as my AA gets cracked or I start losing, asking myself wtf is going wrong. Its rediculously frustrating for me. Im posting this in a desperate attempt to get some gems of wisdom of anyone that will help me progress.
